Bayesian Evaluation of Group Sequential Clinical Trial Designs [PDF]
Clincal trial designs often incorporate a sequential stopping rule to serve as a guide in the early termination of a study. When choosing a particular stopping rule, it is most common to examine frequentist operating characteristics such as type I error,

Infinitesimal Look-Ahead Stopping Rules
Abstract : The continuous time optimal stopping problem is considered and an infinitesimal look ahead procedure is defined. Sufficient conditions are then given which ensure that this procedure, which is the continuous time analogue of the one stage look ahead rule in the discrete time problem, is optimal.

Nuclear pore links Fob1‐dependent rDNA damage relocation to lifespan control
Damaged rDNA accumulates at a specific perinuclear interface that couples nucleolar escape with nuclear envelope association. Nuclear pores at this site help inhibit Fob1‐induced rDNA instability. This spatial organization of damage handling supports a functional link between nuclear architecture, rDNA stability, and replicative lifespan in yeast.

Secretary Problem with Possible Errors in Observation
The classical secretary problem models a situation in which the decision maker can select or reject in the sequential observation objects numbered by the relative ranks.

Single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assays for high‐throughput DNA–protein interaction studies
We describe an optimised single‐molecule DNA flow‐stretch assay that visualises DNA–protein interactions in real time. Linear DNA fragments are tethered to a surface and stretched by buffer flow for fluorescence imaging. Using λ and φX174 DNA, this protocol enhances reproducibility and accessibility, providing a versatile approach for studying diverse ...

Optimal Selling Rule in a Regime Switching Lévy Market
This paper is concerned with a finite-horizon optimal selling rule problem when the underlying stock price movements are modeled by a Markov switching Lévy process.

Background Multi-Arm Multi-Stage designs aim at comparing several new treatments to a common reference, in order to select or drop any treatment arm to move forward when such evidence already exists based on interim analyses.

Computing Bayesian predictive distributions: The K-square and K-prime distributions [PDF]
The computation of two Bayesian predictive distributions which are discrete mixtures of incomplete beta functions is considered. The number of iterations can easily become large for these distributions and thus, the accuracy of the result can be ...
