Small stopping sets in finite projective planes of order q [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
A configuration C in a (finite) incidence structure is a subset C of blocks. If every point on a block of C belongs to at least one other block of C, then C is called stopping set (or equivalently full configuration). If s_min(q) is the minimal size of

Keratin 19 as a prognostic marker and contributing factor of metastasis and chemoresistance in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Keratin 19 (KRT19) is overexpressed in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer with high levels of Kallikrein‐related peptidases (KLK) 4–7 and is associated with poor survival. In vivo analyses demonstrate that elevated KRT19 increases peritoneal tumour burden.

Somatic mutational landscape in von Hippel–Lindau familial hemangioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The causes of central nervous system (CNS) hemangioblastoma in Von Hippel–Lindau (vHL) disease are unclear. We used Whole Exome Sequencing (WES) on familial hemangioblastoma to investigate events that underlie tumor development. Our findings suggest that VHL loss creates a permissive environment for tumor formation, while additional alterations ...

Symbolic Early Stopping in Neural Sequence Models via Mapper-Induced Symbolic Dynamics

open access: yesTechnologies
Early stopping is a standard form of implicit regularization in neural sequence models, but criteria based solely on validation loss can become unstable or weakly informative in noisy, non-stationary, or weakly separated regimes.

Integrated Optimization of Train Stop Planning and Scheduling on Metro Lines With Express/Local Mode

open access: yesIEEE Access, 2019
Train stopping patterns and schedules play critical roles in the service design of metro lines with express/local mode. Previous studies on express/local mode generally handle the design of train stopping patterns and schedules independently, which ...

CCDC80 suppresses high‐grade serous ovarian cancer migration via negative regulation of B7‐H3

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
PAX8 is a lineage‐specific master regulator of transcription in high‐grade serous ovarian cancer (HGSC) progression. We show for the first time that PAX8 facilitates proliferation and metastasis by repressing the cell autonomous tumor suppressor CCDC80 and inducing B7‐H3 expression.

Reflected and Doubly RBSDEs with Irregular Obstacles and a Large Set of Stopping Strategies

open access: yes, 2023
We introduce a new formulation of reflected BSDEs and doubly reflected BSDEs associated with irregular obstacles. In the first part of the paper, we consider an extension of the classical optimal stopping problem over a larger set of stopping systems ...

Subgeometric Ergodicity under Random-Time State-Dependent Drift Conditions

open access: yesJournal of Probability and Statistics, 2014
Motivated by possible applications of Lyapunov techniques in the stability of stochastic networks, subgeometric ergodicity of Markov chains is investigated.

Group Sequential Designs Applied in Psychological Research

open access: yesMethodology, 2020
Psychological research is confronted with ever-increasing demands to save resources such as time and money while assuring high ethical standards. In medical and pharmaceutical research, group sequential designs have fundamentally changed traditional ...

Heterozygous loss‐of‐function alleles associate the conserved 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease EXOSC10 with hypersensitivity to the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
EXOSC10, an essential nuclear RNA exosome‐associated 3′‐5′ exoribonuclease, is inhibited by the anticancer drug 5‐fluorouracil (5‐FU), and EXOSC10 depletion increases 5‐FU sensitivity. The colon‐cancer variant EXOSC10S402T, located in a proteolysis motif, is stable and nuclear but nonfunctional in vivo.
