Enzymatic degradation of biopolymers in amorphous and molten states: mechanisms and applications
This review explains how polymer morphology and thermal state shape enzymatic degradation pathways, comparing amorphous and molten biopolymer structures. By integrating structure–reactivity principles with insights from thermodynamics and enzyme engineering, it highlights mechanisms that enable efficient polymer breakdown.

Separable motions for self-gravitating hyperelastic matter
In this paper, we prove the existence of separable solutions to the equations of motion for self-gravitating hyperelastic matter, under an appropriate class of constitutive assumptions on the strain-energy function.

Strain-induced topological phase transition in phosphorene and phosphorene nanoribbons
Using the tight-binding (TB) approximation with inclusion of the spin-orbit interaction, we predict a topological phase transition in the electronic band structure of phosphorene in the presence of axial strains.

Area-Delay-Energy Tradeoffs of Strain-Mediated Multiferroic Devices
Multiferroic devices hold profound promise for ultra-low energy computing in beyond Moore's law era. The magnetization of a magnetostrictive shape-anisotropic single-domain nanomagnet strain-coupled with a piezoelectric layer in a multiferroic composite ...

Associations of Sleep and Shift Work with Osteoarthritis Risk
Objective Daily rhythms may be critical for maintaining homeostasis of joint tissues. We aimed to investigate the relationships between circadian clock disruption, sleep, and osteoarthritis (OA) risk in humans. Methods In the UK Biobank, a prospective 500,000‐person cohort, we evaluated associations between sleep duration, sleeplessness/insomnia, and ...

Recent crustal movement and great earthquakes in Qinghai-Tibet sub-plate
Crustal movement and incremental-movement data observed repeatedly at GPS stations during 1999–2009 were analyzed to study the effect of two earthquakes of Ms8.1 and Ms8.0 that occurred in 2001 and 2008, respectively, in Qinghai-Tibet sub-plate and its ...
