Nonlinear Vibration Analysis of FG Nano-Beams in Thermal Environment and Resting on Nonlinear Foundation based on Nonlocal and Strain-Inertia Gradient Theory [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Advanced Design and Manufacturing Technology, 2018
In present research, nonlinear vibration of functionally graded nano-beams subjected to uniform temperature rise and resting on nonlinear foundation is comprehensively studied.

Study on the small-scale effect on wave propagation characteristics of fluid-filled carbon nanotubes based on nonlocal fluid theory

open access: yesAdvances in Mechanical Engineering, 2019
In this article, Timoshenko’s beam model is established to investigate the wave propagation behaviors for a fluid-conveying carbon nanotube when employing the nonlocal stress–strain gradient coupled theory and nonlocal fluid theory.

A novel quinazolinone insulin receptor inhibitor and its synergy with an EGFR inhibitor in glucose‐driven glioblastoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The novel styrylquinazolinone‐based molecule W1B effectively suppresses glioblastoma by inhibiting IGF1R and EGFR. In high‐glucose microenvironments driving tumor resistance, W1B acts synergistically with the EGFR inhibitor dacomitinib. This combination safely blocks compensatory survival signaling in zebrafish xenograft models. Showcasing promising in

Finite Element Analyses of the Modified Strain Gradient Theory Based Kirchhoff Microplates

open access: yesSurfaces, 2021
In this contribution, the variational problem for the Kirchhoff plate based on the modified strain gradient theory (MSGT) is derived, and the Euler-Lagrange equations governing the equation of motion are obtained.

Loss of proton‐sensing TDAG8 increases tumor progression in mouse models of colon cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the pH‐sensing receptor TDAG8 accelerates colorectal cancer progression in mice. Animals lacking TDAG8 expression had increased tumor growth, DNA damage, and recruitment of tumor‐associated immune cells, including macrophages, neutrophils, and monocytes.

Exon 7 splicing of ERα predicts poor prognosis and increases phenotypic heterogeneity in luminal a subtype breast cancer

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
ERα splice variant ERα∆7 lacks the C‐terminus, and its expression may change phenotypes of breast cancers. Our results showed that ERα∆7 is found in the luminal A subtype, and elevated ERα∆7 levels are linked to improved cell survival with lower proliferation and migration.

Analysing the significance of small conformational changes and low occupancy states in serial crystallographic data

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
This protocol paper outlines methods to establish the success of a time‐resolved serial crystallographic experiment, by means of statistical analysis of timepoint data in reciprocal space and models in real space. We show how to amplify the signal from excited states to visualise structural changes in successful experiments.

Interface crack problems with strain gradient effects

open access: yes, 2002
In this paper, the strain gradient theory proposed by Chen and Wang (2001 a, 2002b) is used to analyze an interface crack tip field at micron scales.

The ab-initio aided strain gradient elasticity theory

open access: yesFracture and Structural Integrity, 2019
When the width of cracked nanocomponents made of brittle or quasi-brittle materials is less than approximately , the size of the - dominance zone becomes smaller than  and comparable to the fracture process zone ( ).
