Extreme Hardening of Pb at High Pressure and Strain Rate

open access: yesPhysical Review Letters, 2019
We study the high-pressure strength of Pb and Pb-4wt%Sb at the National Ignition Facility. We measure Rayleigh-Taylor growth of preformed ripples ramp compressed to ∼400  GPa peak pressure, among the highest-pressure strength measurements ever reported on any platform.

Tensile strain-hardening behavior and related deformation mechanisms of pure titanium at cryogenic temperature

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
The tensile strain-hardening behavior of pure Ti at 100 K was investigated using X-ray diffraction line-profile analysis and plasticity simulation. The strain hardening was significantly increased at 100 K, compared with that observed at 298 K.

A Comparative Study of Strain Rate Constitutive and Machine Learning Models for Flow Behavior of AZ31-0.5 Ca Mg Alloy during Hot Deformation

open access: yesMathematics, 2022
In this study, isothermal compression tests of highly ductile AZ31-0.5Ca Mg alloys were conducted at different strain rates (0.001–0.1 s−1) and temperatures (423–523 K) along with extruded direction.

Achieving excellent mechanical properties in a dual-phase FeCrNi medium entropy alloy through athermal transformations and dislocation structures

open access: yesJournal of Materials Research and Technology, 2023
In this study, a face-centered cubic (FCC) + body-centered cubic (BCC) dual-phase Fe40Cr40Ni20 (at.%) medium-entropy alloy (MEA) with outstanding mechanical properties was developed.

Analysis of Strain Hardening Stages of AISI 316 LN Stainless Steel Under Cold Rolling Conditions

open access: yesMetals
In the present investigation, stress–strain curves and strain hardening rates on samples rolled at ambient temperature with thickness reductions of 0%, 10%, 30%, and 50% were studied.

A Modified Johnson-Cook Model for Hot Deformation Behavior of 35CrMo Steel

open access: yesMetals, 2017
In this work, a compression experiment of 35CrMo steel is carried out over a wide range of temperatures (1123–1423 K) and strain rates (0.1–10 s−1) to obtain further understandings of the flow behaviors.

Dynamic Hardening of AISI 304 Steel at a Wide Range of Strain Rates and Its Application to Shot Peening Simulation

open access: yesMetals, 2022
The hardening behavior of AISI 304 steel is investigated at various strain rates, from the quasi-static state to ultra-high strain rates, because it is necessary for numerical simulation of high-speed deformation problems.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

An investigation of dynamic mechanical behaviour of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy at room temperature

open access: yesMATEC Web of Conferences, 2016
To study the high strain rate shear behaviour of Ti6Al4V titanium alloy, a series of dynamic compression experiments has been performed by split Hopkinson pressure bar (SHPB) using Flat Hat-shaped specimen at room temperature.
