Rheometer Strain and Strain-Rate Errors [PDF]

open access: yes, 1990
We have found systematic errors which can affect measured rheological properties in the instrumentation of two commercial rheometers. Users of commercial instrumentation should establish the extent to which these and similar errors may exist in their systems.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.

Measurements of Strain-Rate Distributions on Material After Shpb Impact

open access: yesEngineering Transactions, 2014
We have proposed a sophisticated novel method of the SHPB experiment to measure the local strain-rate distributions on a surface of the specimen by using mechanoluminescent materials combined with a high-speed camera and an image intensifier.

Review of Intermediate Strain Rate Testing Devices

open access: yesMetals, 2020
Materials undergo various loading conditions during different manufacturing processes, including varying strain rates and temperatures. Research has shown that the deformation of metals and alloys during manufacturing processes such as metal forming ...

Degradation mechanism of the von Willebrand factor A2 domain by nattokinase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Nattokinase, a natto‐derived protease, exhibits potent antithrombotic effects. This study demonstrates that nattokinase directly cleaves the von Willebrand factor (vWF) A2 domain in vitro. Unlike the native regulator ADAMTS13, nattokinase degrades folded vWF independently of shear stress.

MRI-based strain and strain rate analysis of left ventricle: A modified hierarchical transformation model [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Background \ud \ud Different from other indicators of cardiac function, such as ejection fraction and transmitral early diastolic velocity, myocardial strain is promising to capture subtle alterations that result from early diseases of the myocardium. In

STRAIN/STRAIN RATE ECHOCARDIOGRAPHY

open access: yesEurasian Journal of Medicine, 2019
The characterization of local myocardial deformation, for both local radial and longitudinal function, could be important in heart diseases. Strain and strain rate echocardiography derived tissue Doppler imaging is a new clinical approach to quantifying ...

Strain rate sensitivity of mechanical properties of the ZK60 alloy with the high degree of corrosion damage

open access: yesFrontier Materials & Technologies, 2023
There is a strong belief that hydrogen absorbed by magnesium alloys during corrosion can cause their stress corrosion cracking. One of the characteristic markers indicating the involvement of diffusible hydrogen into the fracture mechanism of metals is ...
