Ultrahigh Resolution Multiplexed Fiber Bragg Grating Sensor for Crustal Strain Monitoring
We demonstrated a multiplexed fiber Bragg grating (FBG) sensor with static strain resolution of 10 nanostrain (nε) for crustal strain monitoring. Each sensor unit consists of a pair of identical FBGs for strain sensing and reference, respectively.

Piezo-Resistive Properties of Bio-Based Sensor Yarn Made with Sisal Fibre
In this work, a sensor yarn based on a natural sisal yarn containing a non-electro-conductive core impregnated with PVA polymer and coated by PEDOT:PSS polymer as an electro-conductive sheath was investigated.

Flexible thin polymer waveguide Bragg grating sensor foils for strain sensing [PDF]
This paper demonstrates that epoxy-based single mode polymer waveguides with Bragg gratings can be realized in very thin (down to 50 micron) polymer foils which are suitable for strain sensing when integrated inside glass fiber reinforced polymer ...

This study reveals how the mitochondrial protein Slm35 is regulated in Saccharomyces cerevisiae. The authors identify stress‐responsive DNA elements and two upstream open reading frames (uORFs) in the 5′ untranslated region of SLM35. One uORF restricts translation, and its mutation increases Slm35 protein levels and mitophagy.

Silicon strain sensors enable pressure measurement at cryogenic temperatures [PDF]
Miniature pressure transducers with diffused, heavily doped silicon strain-gage sensor elements, operates over a wide temperature range. Small thermal mass combined with close coupling between a metallic diaphragm and sensor elements minimizes ...

Ultra-high-sensitivity two-dimensional bend sensor [PDF]
A multicore fibre Fabry-Perot-based strain sensor interrogated with tandem interferometry for bend measurement is described. Curvature in two dimensions is obtained by measuring the difference in strain between three co-located low finesse Fabry-Perot ...

In situ molecular organization and heterogeneity of the Legionella Dot/Icm T4SS
We present a nearly complete in situ model of the Legionella Dot/Icm type IV secretion system, revealing its central secretion channel and identifying new components. Using cryo‐electron tomography with AI‐based modeling, our work highlights the structure, variability, and mechanism of this complex nanomachine, advancing understanding of bacterial ...

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.
