Organoids in pediatric cancer research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Organoid technology has revolutionized cancer research, yet its application in pediatric oncology remains limited. Recent advances have enabled the development of pediatric tumor organoids, offering new insights into disease biology, treatment response, and interactions with the tumor microenvironment.

Enhancing Knowledge Management Strategies [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
{Excerpt} Despite worldwide attention to strategic planning, the notion of strategic practice is surprisingly new. To draw a strategy is relatively easy but to execute it is difficult—strategy is both a macro and a micro phenomenon that depends on ...

Reciprocal control of viral infection and phosphoinositide dynamics

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Phosphoinositides, although scarce, regulate key cellular processes, including membrane dynamics and signaling. Viruses exploit these lipids to support their entry, replication, assembly, and egress. The central role of phosphoinositides in infection highlights phosphoinositide metabolism as a promising antiviral target.

Circulating microRNAs in Fabry Disease

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2019
Fabry disease is an X-linked deficiency of the lysosomal hydrolase alpha-galactosidase A (alpha-Gal). This results in an accumulation of globotriaosylceramide (GL-3/Gb3) in a variety of cells with subsequent functional impairment. The continuous progress

Big Strategy/Small Strategy [PDF]

open access: yesStrategic Organization, 2012
My title plays on Rumelt’s (2011) instant classic Good Strategy/Bad Strategy. That book focuses on what works well or otherwise for organizations. Big Strategy/Small Strategy switches the focus to different issues. ‘Small Strategy’ is about financial performance, typically of firms in competitive industries.

Spatiotemporal and quantitative analyses of phosphoinositides – fluorescent probe—and mass spectrometry‐based approaches

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Fluorescent probes allow dynamic visualization of phosphoinositides in living cells (left), whereas mass spectrometry provides high‐sensitivity, isomer‐resolved quantitation (right). Their synergistic use captures complementary aspects of lipid signaling. This review illustrates how these approaches reveal the spatiotemporal regulation and quantitative

Circular RNA circIGF1R controls cardiac fibroblast proliferation through regulation of carbohydrate metabolism

open access: yesScientific Reports
Excessive fibroblast proliferation and metabolic reprogramming are hallmarks of pathological cardiac remodeling, contributing significantly to impaired cardiac function. This study investigates the role of circular RNAs (circRNAs) in fibroblast metabolic
