Targeting PRAME directly or via EZH2 inhibition overcomes retinoid resistance and represents a novel therapy for keratinocyte carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The study evaluated the function and therapeutic implications of PRAME in basal cell carcinoma (BCC) and squamous cell carcinoma (SCC). The findings demonstrate that PRAME impairs keratinocyte differentiation pathways. Furthermore, PRAME impairs anticancer response to retinoid compounds in BCC and SCC cells.

Semi‐supervised classification of fundus images combined with CNN and GCN

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose Diabetic retinopathy (DR) is one of the most serious complications of diabetes, which is a kind of fundus lesion with specific changes. Early diagnosis of DR can effectively reduce the visual damage caused by DR. Due to the variety and different morphology of DR lesions, automatic classification of fundus images in mass screening can ...

Causal Inference When Counterfactuals Depend on the Proportion of All Subjects Exposed [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
The assumption that no subject's exposure affects another subject's outcome, known as the no-interference assumption, has long held a foundational position in the study of causal inference. However, this assumption may be violated in many settings, and in recent years has been relaxed considerably.

Classification of acute myeloid leukemia based on multi‐omics and prognosis prediction value

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The Unsupervised AML Multi‐Omics Classification System (UAMOCS) integrates genomic, methylation, and transcriptomic data to categorize AML patients into three subtypes (UAMOCS1‐3). This classification reveals clinical relevance, highlighting immune and chromosomal characteristics, prognosis, and therapeutic vulnerabilities.

Feasibility of radical cardiac‐sparing, treatment planning strategies for patients with locally advanced, non‐small cell lung cancer

open access: yesJournal of Applied Clinical Medical Physics, Volume 23, Issue 12, December 2022., 2022
Abstract Purpose A set of treatment planning strategies were designed and retrospectively implemented for locally advanced, non‐small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) patients in order to minimize cardiac dose without compromising target coverage goals. Methods Retrospective analysis was performed for 20 NSCLC patients prescribed to 60–66 Gy that received a ...

The stratified micro-randomized trial design: sample size considerations for testing nested causal effects of time-varying treatments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2017
Technological advancements in the field of mobile devices and wearable sensors have helped overcome obstacles in the delivery of care, making it possible to deliver behavioral treatments anytime and anywhere. Increasingly the delivery of these treatments is triggered by predictions of risk or engagement which may have been impacted by prior treatments.
