Localization using signal strength
Proceedings of the first ACM international workshop on Mobile entity localization and tracking in GPS-less environments, 2008Received Signal Strength (RSS) data collected within a wireless network can be used to obtain either range estimates or connectivity information. Both approaches lead to localization schemes that require no additional hardware. It is not clear, however, when a range-based scheme should be used in favor of a connectivity-based one.

Journal of Educational Administration
PurposeEvidence has indicated plausible effects of employees' use of their personal strengths at work on their attitudes, performance and well-being. Although the use of personal strengths was also expected to benefit others in the organization, such effects have rarely been examined.

Therapist Use of Client Strengths
The Counseling Psychologist, 2012Gelso and Woodhouse highlight a lack of empirical efforts to bring a core identity of counseling psychology, the use of client strengths, into therapy. Additionally, the positive psychology movement is devoid of a system of positive therapeutic processes designed to help clients toward optimal human functioning. This investigation sought to explicitly

Using PSPs to Bolster Strengths
2023This chapter argues that being in touch with our values helps us understand how we judge people and situations. It elaborates on how identifying our own values gives us important information about ourselves and can also give us insight into our own thinking and assumptions.

Strength modeling using Weibull distributions
Journal of Mechanical Science and Technology, 2008The two-parameter Weibull distribution is the most popular model for material strength. However, it may not be a good model for all materials over a wide range of sizes. In this note, a comprehensive review of the known variations of the two-parameter Weibull distribution is provided to help providing better modeling.

An Approach to Seam Strength Prediction Using Residual Thread Strength
Research Journal of Textile and Apparel, 2011Owing to a high amount of stress, seam failure in workwear fabrics makes the fabric unsuitable although the fabric strength is high. It is therefore important to predict the seam strength to ascertain the performance of the garments during use and determine the required thread strength and stitch density to match the required seam strength.

Clinical Use of Electrogustometry: Strengths and Limitations
Acta Oto-Laryngologica, 2002Electrogustometry (EGM) has a number of strengths and a few limitations in clinical use. The strengths of EGM are: (i) the range of measurements can be kept constant; (ii) quantitative control of the intensity of the stimulation is possible; (iii) only a short period of time is required for testing; (iv) it is possible to detect even slight taste ...
