The Antidiabetic Activity of Nigella sativa and Propolis on Streptozotocin-Induced Diabetes and Diabetic Nephropathy in Male Rats

open access: yesEvidence-Based Complementary and Alternative Medicine, 2017
This study was conducted to compare the ameliorative effect of Nigella sativa and propolis methanol extract on streptozotocin-induced diabetic male rats and treating diabetic nephropathy.

Wound Geometry Determines Whether Aligned‐Fiber Scaffolds Accelerate or Impede Diabetic Wound Healing: A Biased Random Walk Analysis

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
Wound closure is governed by geometry‐orientation coupling: aligned fibers speed migration along their axis but hinder perpendicular advance. In vivo diabetic wound experiments with composition‐matched fibrin, combined with an anisotropic diffusion (biased random‐walk) model, quantify this trade‐off and generate a healing landscape.

Alterations of the giant pyramidal neurons (Betz cells) in brain cortex of rat offspring born from gestational diabetic dams: A morphometric study [Alteraciones de las Neuronas Piramidales Gigantes de la Corteza Cerebral en Crías de Ratas Nacidas de Hembras con Diabetes Gestacional: Un Estudio Morfométrico] [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A few studies reported the adverse effects of gestational diabetes on hippocampus and spinal cord of rat offspring. Giant pyramidal neurons are giant pyramidal neurons located in fifth layers of the gray matter in the primary motor cortex.

Antidiabetic effect of Tibetan medicine Tang-Kang-Fu-San on high-fat diet and streptozotocin-induced type 2 diabetic rats [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
The aim of this study was to investigate the antidiabetic effects of a Tibetan medicine, Tang-Kang-Fu-San (TKFS), on experimental type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) rats and to explore its underlying mechanisms.

Streptozotocin Treatment of Streptozotocin-lnduced Islet Cell Adenomas in Rats

open access: yesExperimental Biology and Medicine, 1976
Hypoglycemic rats bearing insulin-secreting islet-cell adenomas produced by the combined action of streptozotocin and nicotinamide were treated with streptozotocin. Antitumor response was demonstrated by elevation of blood glucose, reduction in plasma and tumor IRI, and histopathologic changes in the beta-cell neoplasm. The rodent tumor model may serve

Enzymuria in Streptozotocin-Diabetic Rats [PDF]

open access: yesClinical Chemistry and Laboratory Medicine, 1986
Twenty four hour urine samples of male control and streptozotocin-diabetic Wistar rats were analysed for a series of commonly known kidney-specific enzymes, for electrolytes, creatinine, glucose, total protein and urine volume. The examination was done during two periods of 5 days between the 25th and 30th and the 32nd and 36th day after streptozotocin

AI–Guided 4D Printing of Carnivorous Plants–Inspired Microneedles for Accelerated Wound Healing

open access: yesAdvanced Materials, EarlyView.
This work presents an artificial intelligence (AI)‐guided 4D‐printed microneedle platform inspired by carnivorous plants for wound healing. A thermo‐responsive shape memory polymer enables body temperature–triggered self‐coiling for autonomous wound closure.

TEAD1 Enhances Exosome Secretion and Promotes Exosome‐Mediated Tissue Regeneration

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
TEAD1 functions as a crucial molecular switch regulating exosome secretion in various cell types. TEAD1 enhances exosome secretion by upregulating key proteins associated with exosome secretion, including RAB11, CD9, and SNAP23. This study reveals a novel role for TEAD1 in regulating exosome secretion and tissue regeneration, particularly in diabetic ...
