Circular 86 [PDF]

open access: yes, 1992
Reindeer in western Alaska have been described as a free-ranging, semi-domesticated animal. Herd management is minimal and animals are less tractable when compared to domestic livestock.

CAN-STRESS: A Real-World Multimodal Dataset for Understanding Cannabis Use, Stress, and Physiological Responses [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
Coping with stress is one of the most frequently cited reasons for chronic cannabis use. Therefore, it is hypothesized that cannabis users exhibit distinct physiological stress responses compared to non-users, and these differences would be more pronounced during moments of consumption.

Classification of Perceived Human Stress using Physiological Signals [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2019
In this paper, we present an experimental study for the classification of perceived human stress using non-invasive physiological signals. These include electroencephalography (EEG), galvanic skin response (GSR), and photoplethysmography (PPG). We conducted experiments consisting of steps including data acquisition, feature extraction, and perceived ...

Advanced glycation end products promote the release of endothelial cell‐derived mitocytosis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Under diabetic conditions, AGEs induce mitochondrial damage in HUVECs, activating migrasome‐mediated mitocytosis. Migrasomes encapsulate damaged mitochondria and are released into the extracellular space, facilitating intercellular mitochondrial transfer.

Electrodermal Insights into Stress Dynamics of AR-Assisted Safety Warnings in Virtual Roadway Work Zone Environments [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This study examines stress levels in roadway workers utilizing AR-assisted multi-sensory warning systems under varying work intensities. A high-fidelity Virtual Reality environment was used to replicate real-world scenarios, allowing safe exploration of high-risk situations while focusing on the physiological impacts of work conditions.

Comparative study of adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase domains of MuF polymorphic toxins

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
With the ultimate goal of understanding the association of toxin‐immunity modules to temperate phages, we characterized toxins from three prophages and examined cross‐protection from immunity proteins. The toxins exhibit adenosine 3′‐pyrophosphokinase activity and are toxic in Escherichia coli.

Lumpfish physiological response to chronic stress

open access: yesFrontiers in Marine Science
In this study, we explored the effects of chronic stress on lumpfish (Cyclopterus lumpus) physiological, immune response, health, and plasma free amino acids. 3 groups of lumpfish were exposed to 1-minute air exposure.

Integrating Physiological Data with Large Language Models for Empathic Human-AI Interaction [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv
This paper explores enhancing empathy in Large Language Models (LLMs) by integrating them with physiological data. We propose a physiological computing approach that includes developing deep learning models that use physiological data for recognizing psychological states and integrating the predicted states with LLMs for empathic interaction.

Long non‐coding RNAs as therapeutic targets in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma and clinical application

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Long non‐coding RNAs (lncRNAs) occupy an abundant fraction of the eukaryotic transcriptome and an emerging area in cancer research. Regulation by lncRNAs is based on their subcellular localization in HNSCC. This cartoon shows the various functions of lncRNAs in HNSCC discussed in this review.
