Hyperosmotic stress induces PARP1‐mediated HPF1‐dependent mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Sorbitol‐induced hyperosmotic stress rapidly induces reversible mono(ADP‐ribosyl)ation (MARylation) on PARP1 without the signs of genotoxic signaling. We show that PARP1 autoMARylation is HPF1 dependent and forms hydroxylamine‐resistant O‐glycosidic linkages.

Screening of Active Compounds Against Porcine Epidemic Diarrhea Virus in Hypericum japonicum Thunb. ex Murray Extracts

open access: yesViruses
Porcine epidemic diarrhea (PED) remains a persistent threat to global swine production, necessitating urgent development of targeted interventions. Our previous research established that Hypericum japonicum Thunb.

The ubiquitin ligase RNF115 is required for the clearance of damaged lysosomes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Upon lysosomal rupture, an E3 ubiquitin ligase RNF115 translocates from the cytosol to the damaged lysosomal membrane. Moreover, RNF115 depletion impairs the clearance of damaged lysosomes, identifying it as a key regulator of lysosomal quality control.

Epigenetic blind spots – the role of DNA methylation dynamics in stem cell‐based models of embryogenesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Embryo‐like structures (stembryos) are an innovative tool, but they are hindered by experimental variability and limited developmental potential. DNA methylation is crucial for mammalian development, but its status in stembryo models is poorly characterized.

Evaluation of stress centres

open access: yes, 2007
NHS Greater Glasgow and Clyde (NHSGGC) commissioned an evaluation of the stress centres in the city. The aim of this evaluation is to take stock of the current position of the stress centres and offer suggestions for a way forward with a view to creating

Neural network approach to flow stress evaluation in hot deformation

open access: yes, 1995
With increase in the use of finite-element methods to characterize the workpiece behaviour under different processing conditions in metal-forming operations, an effective means of establishing the complicated relationship between the flow stress of the ...

Residual tail twisting in ascidian larvae is stabilized by asymmetric myofibrils that resist bilateral symmetry restoration

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Ascidian Ciona larvae initially show strong clockwise tail twisting, which is largely corrected during development. However, a small residual twist remains. This study shows that organized helical myofibrils in tail muscles mechanically stabilize this residual asymmetry, preventing complete restoration of bilateral symmetry and revealing how embryos ...
