DETERMINATION OF THE LIMITING STRESS STATE IN THE TIMBER WITH THE GRADIENT HUMIDITY FIELDS [PDF]

open access: yesPro Ligno, 2015
An important task of hydrothermal technology of wood processing is the task of determining the stress tensor components distribution and their permissible values in the dry timber.

RESIDUAL STRESS DISTRIBUTION FOR A SINGLE PASS WELD IN PIPE

open access: yesJournal of Engineering, 2010
Heat input due to the welding of mild steel pipe causes a temperature gradient in the parent metal. After welding and temperature cooling down, residual stresses appear around welding zone which reduces the weld strength.

Weight gradience and stress in Portuguese

open access: yes, 2017
This paper examines the role of weight in stress assignment in the Portuguese lexicon, and proposes a probabilistic approach to stress. I show that weight effects are gradient, and weaken monotonically as we move away from the right edge of the word ...

Natural Products as Geroprotective Modulators in Diabetic Nephropathy: A Mechanistic Framework Integrating Aging Hallmarks and the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 Axis

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Natural products target the aging kidney in diabetic nephropathy by restoring the AMPK–SIRT1–Nrf2 axis, reducing oxidative stress, inflammation, fibrosis, and cellular senescence while enhancing mitochondrial biogenesis and antioxidant defenses.

Long‐Term Follow‐Up of Chemotherapy‐Associated Biological Aging in Women With Early Breast Cancer

open access: yesAging and Cancer, EarlyView.
Women threated with adjuvant chemotherapy for early breast cancer have sustained long‐term increase in p16INK4a,, a robust marker of cell senescence, suggesting a chemotherapy‐associated age acceleration. p16INK4a as well as other biomarkers may identify patients at greatest risk for senescence‐related diseases of aging.

High-strength mechanically gradient hydrogels via physical crosslinking for tendon-mimetic tissue repair

open access: yesnpj Flexible Electronics
The biomimetic materials that replicate the mechanical gradient transitions from muscle to tendon to bone remain a significant challenge in tissue engineering, particularly through simple and environmentally friendly approaches.

Electrostatic actuators with intrinsic stress gradient.

open access: yes, 2002
Electrostatic actuators based on microelectromechanical systems ͑MEMS͒ have many attractive features for use as variable capacitors in high-frequency applications. The devices consist of two electrodes, one fixed and the other movable.

Brainstem and Cerebellar Volume Loss and Associated Clinical Features in Progressive Supranuclear Palsy

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Progressive Supranuclear Palsy (PSP) is a neurodegenerative ‘tauopathy’ with predominating pathology in the basal ganglia and midbrain. Caudal tau spread frequently implicates the cerebellum; however, the pattern of atrophy remains equivocal.

Value of MRI Outcomes for Preventive and Early‐Stage Trials in Spinocerebellar Ataxias 1 and 3

open access: yesAnnals of Clinical and Translational Neurology, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Objective To examine the value of MRI outcomes as endpoints for preventive and early‐stage trials of two polyglutamine spinocerebellar ataxias (SCAs). Methods A cohort of 100 participants (23 SCA1, 63 SCA3, median Scale for the Assessment and Rating of Ataxia (SARA) score = 5, 42% preataxic, and 14 gene‐negative controls) was scanned at 3T up ...
