Vision Transformers for Modeling of Nonlinear Heterogeneous Materials
ABSTRACT Multiscale simulations of nonlinear heterogeneous materials and composites are challenging due to the prohibitive computational costs of high‐fidelity simulations. Recently, machine learning (ML) based approaches have emerged as promising alternatives to traditional multiscale methods.

Abstract During an earthquake a dynamic rupture propagates, causing fractures and permanent damage that modify the mechanical properties of the fault and its surroundings. Reciprocally, the energy dissipated by the mechanical transformation of the fault rock has a direct feedback on the dynamics of the seismic rupture.

Stress triaxiality effect on cleavage fracture stress
Theoretical and Applied Fracture Mechanics, 2020Abstract In this work the effect of stress triaxiality on cleavage fracture stress was investigated by means of micromechanical modelling. A unit-cell model was used to determine macroscopic conditions for brittle fracture, in accordance with the slip-induced cleavage fracture model, because of included particle fracture and consequent crack ...
