Cement and Concrete Research, 1975Abstract A model of concrete consisting of cylindrical pieces of aggregates in a matrix of cement paste was analyzed by the plane-stress finite element method. The three-dimensional case was reduced to a two-dimensional one by restricting the multiaxial stresses to the cylindrical triaxial state of stress.
