Casimir stresses in active nematic films
We calculate the Casimir stresses in a thin layer of active fluid with nematic order. By using a stochastic hydrodynamic approach for an active fluid layer of finite thickness L, we generalize the Casimir stress for nematic liquid crystals in thermal ...

We identified a systemic, progressive loss of protein S‐glutathionylation—detected by nonreducing western blotting—alongside dysregulation of glutathione‐cycle enzymes in both neuronal and peripheral tissues of Taiwanese SMA mice. These alterations were partially rescued by SMN antisense oligonucleotide therapy, revealing persistent redox imbalance as ...

This study reveals a unique active site enriched in methionine residues and demonstrates that these residues play a critical role by stabilizing carbocation intermediates through novel sulfur–cation interactions. Structure‐guided mutagenesis further revealed variants with significantly altered product profiles, enhancing pseudopterosin formation. These

Shear induced normal stress differences in aqueous foams
A finite simple shear deformation of an elastic solid induces unequal normal stresses. This nonlinear phenomenon, known as the Poynting effect, is governed by a universal relation between shear strain and first normal stresses difference, valid for non ...

Biomolecular condensates formed by fused in sarcoma (FUS) are dissolved by high ATP concentrations yet persist in cells. Using a reconstituted system, we demonstrate that valosin‐containing protein (VCP), an AAA+ ATPase, counteracts ATP‐driven dissolution of FUS condensates through its D2 ATPase activity.

CFD-FEM Analysis for Functionality Prediction of Multi-Gear Pumps
A comprehensive model for evaluating the functionality of a multi-gear pump has been developed. The integrated model for assessing the functionality of a multi-gear pump contains a computational fluid dynamics analysis (CFD) model combined with a finite ...

Two-dimensional thermo-viscoelastic waves in layered media
Dynamic problems of deformation of solids have been the subject of numerous studies in the CIS and abroad. The rejection of a number of simplifying assumptions made in the cited and other published works leads to the need for further refinement and ...
