Preferential superficial cortical layer activation during seizure propagation
Abstract Objective Focal cortical seizures travel long distances from the onset zone, but the long‐distance propagation pathways are uncertain. In vitro and in vivo imaging techniques have investigated the local spread of seizures but did not elucidate long‐distance spread. Furthermore, classical studies in slices suggested seizure spread locally along

Abstract Objective Deep brain stimulation of the centromedian nucleus of the thalamus (CM‐DBS) is an investigational, off‐label treatment for drug‐resistant epilepsy (DRE) in children. Although emerging evidence supports its safety and efficacy for select indications, the effect of CM‐DBS on quality of life and functional outcomes such as school ...

Twin‐arginine translocation D (TatD) homologs are found across all kingdoms, with debated roles in DNA degradation and protein quality control in unicellular organisms. We characterize TATDN1, the mammalian TatD orthologue, as a proteostatic stress‐responsive cytosolic protein dispensable for DNA degradation.

d‐amino acids: new functional insights
This review explores recent advances in understanding d‐amino acids (d‐AAs) and their pivotal roles across organisms, from plants to humans. d‐AAs have been implicated in key physiological processes, including cancer, inflammation, immune regulation, kidney disease, diabetes, and nervous system function.
