Two Micron‐Size Dark Dimensions

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 8, August 2025.
Abstract Two extra dimensions of micron scale might simultaneously address the gauge and cosmological hierarchy problems. In this paper various observational bounds in scenarios with one and two large extra dimensions are examined, to see if they are compatible with the micron scale.

The Landscape, the Swampland and the Era of Precision Cosmology

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 67, Issue 1-2, January-February 2019., 2019
Abstract We review the advanced version of the KKLT construction and pure de Sitter supergravity, involving a nilpotent multiplet, with regard to various conjectures that de Sitter state cannot exist in string theory. We explain why we consider these conjectures problematic and not well motivated, and why the recently proposed alternative string theory

Notes on Characterizations of 2d Rational SCFTs: Algebraicity, Mirror Symmetry, and Complex Multiplication

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 73, Issue 1-2, February 2025.
Abstract S. Gukov and C. Vafa proposed a characterization of rational N=(1,1)$N=(1,1)$ superconformal field theories (SCFTs) in 1+1$1+1$ dimensions with Ricci‐flat Kähler target spaces in terms of the Hodge structure of the target space, extending an earlier observation by G. Moore.

Modeling Dark Sector in Horndeski Gravity at First‐Order Formalism

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2019, Issue 1, 2019., 2019
We investigate a cosmological scenario by finding solutions using first‐order formalism in the Horndeski gravity that constrains the superpotential and implies that no free choice of scalar potential is allowed. Despite this, we show that a de Sitter phase at late‐time cosmology can be realized, where the dark energy sector can be identified.

Remark on modular weights in low-energy effective field theory from type II string theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We revisit the modular weights in type IIB magnetized D-brane models. The simple analysis of wave function shows that the four-dimensional matter fields have the modular weight -1/2, but it may shift as one in type IIA intersecting D-brane models.

Building a St\"uckelberg Portal [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We construct explicit string theory models realizing the recently proposed "St\"uckelberg Portal" scenario, a framework for building Z' mediation models without the need to introduce unwanted exotic matter charged under the Standard Model.

Species Scale and Primordial Gravitational Waves

open access: yesFortschritte der Physik, Volume 72, Issue 6, June 2024.
Abstract The species scale is a field‐dependent UV cut‐off for any effective field theory weakly coupled to gravity. In this letter, it is shown that in the context of inflationary cosmology, a detection of primordial gravitational waves will set an upper bound on the decay rate |Λs′/Λs|$|\Lambda ^{\prime }_s/\Lambda _s|$ of the species scale ...

Effective Natural Supersymmetry from the Yukawa Deflected Mediations

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2017, Issue 1, 2017., 2017
The natural supersymmetry (SUSY) requires light (≤1 TeV) stop quarks, light sbottom quark, and gluinos. The first generation of squarks can be effectively larger than several TeV which does not introduce any hierarchy problem in order to escape the constraints from LHC.

D-Matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 2003
We study the properties and phenomenology of particle-like states originating from D-branes whose spatial dimensions are all compactified. They are non-perturbative states in string theory and we refer to them as D-matter.

q‐Deformed Glueball Spectrum in AdS/QCD Correspondence

open access: yesAdvances in High Energy Physics, Volume 2024, Issue 1, 2024.
This work presents the application of the q‐algebra in the glueball spectrum. This algebra is implemented through Jackson’s derivatives in a Schrödinger‐like equation resulting from the gravity fluctuations around the braneworld scenario in five dimensions.
