Physics Letters B, 1992 Abstract A study is made of all ZN and ZM×ZN orbifolds to discover for which orbifolds string loop threshold corrections to the renormalisation group equations for the gauge coupling constants enable string unification together with SO(6)×SO(4), [SU(3)]3 or flipped SU(5)×U(1) grand unification to occur at a scale less than 1018 GeV.
