String Field Theory is a formulation of String Theory as a Quantum Field Theory in target space. It allows to tame the infrared divergences of String Theory and to approach its non-perturbative structure and background independence.

String field theory vertex from integrability [PDF]
A bstractWe propose a framework for computing the (light cone) string field theory vertex in the case when the string worldsheet QFT is a generic integrable theory.

Constrained BV description of string field theory [PDF]
A bstractIn the conventional BV description of string field theory, the string field Φ is split as Φ = Ψ + Ψ* where Ψ includes all states with ghost number ≤ G and describes the spacetime fields, and Ψ* includes all states with ghost number > G and ...

The ZZ annulus one-point function in non-critical string theory: A string field theory analysis
We compute the ZZ annulus one-point function of the cosmological constant operator in non-critical string theory, regulating divergences from the boundaries of moduli space using string field theory.

Classical open string amplitudes from boundary string field theory
We calculate the corrections to the open string BRST charge in boundary string field theory and show that the expansion coefficients agree with the perturbative S-matrix to all orders.

String scattering amplitudes and deformed cubic string field theory
We study string scattering amplitudes by using the deformed cubic string field theory which is equivalent to the string field theory in the proper-time gauge.

Approaches to Quantum Gravity: String field theory
This elementary introduction to string field theory highlights the features and the limitations of this approach to quantum gravity as it is currently understood. String field theory is a formulation of string theory as a field theory in space-time with an infinite number of massive fields. Although existing constructions of string field theory require

Closed string cohomology in open string field theory [PDF]
We show that closed string states in bosonic string field theory are encoded in the cyclic cohomology of cubic open string field theory (OSFT) which, in turn, classifies the deformations of OSFT. This cohomology is then shown to be independent of the open string background.

Wilsonian effective potentials and closed string field theory
We investigate Wilsonian effective field theory as a model for the construction of the tachyon potential and nonperturbative vacua in closed string field theory.

Rolling tachyon and the phase space of open string field theory
We construct the symplectic form on the covariant phase space of the open string field theory on a ZZ-brane in c = 1 string theory, and determine the energy of the rolling tachyon solution, confirming Sen’s earlier proposal based on boundary conformal ...
