Improved model of bosonic string

Physical Review D, 1987
A model of the bosonic string is presented in which 16 additional twisted scalar fields defined on the world sheet allow the tachyonic mass to vanish and scalar fields defined on the world sheet allow the tachyonic mass to vanish and the critical dimension to be lowered to d=10.

Developing Model Strings for Model Managers

Journal of Management Information Systems, 1986
Models are a key component in the decision-making process. Model managers have been proposed to select and direct the use of models in a decision setting.

String model of the early Universe

Physical Review D, 1994
Using the scaling notion of a cosmic string network, we study the evolution of the early Universe, dominated by long strings in a flat background space-time. Defining a parameter r, the radiation fraction of the total energy density, the long strings, loops, and radiation energy densities are obtained in a self-consistent manner.

String Models and String Theories

2004
In this paper we outline some phenomena where Formal Language Theory (FLT) and First Order Logic (FOL) meet and open new perspectives in both their investigation fields. What will turn out to be essential, in this direction, are the notions of string model and string theory that are defined by extending the linear and concatenative structure of strings

Vortices and strings in a model ecosystem

Physical Review E, 1994
We study the spatial pattern formation in a model ecosystem by the position-fixed reaction method. This ecosystem contains three biospecies whose competing powers are cyclic. It is well known that this system is self-organized into a quasistationary state, and that the mean-field approximation (MFA) never predicts such a pattern formation.

An overview of string theory and string models

2006
Abstract It is widely believed that string theory provides the consistent framework which lies behind low energy supersymmetry. The purpose of this chapter is to provide a non-technical overview of the main ideas of string theory1, as well as to present some of the new concepts which arise and which might lead to new developments in the ...

On Strings in Software Model Checking

2019
Strings represent one of the most common and most intricate data-types found in software programs, with correct string processing often being a decisive factor for correctness and security properties. This has led to a wide range of recent research results on how to analyse programs operating on strings, using methods like testing, fuzzing, symbolic ...

String models with twisted currents

Physical Review D, 1986
We consider bosonic string models with non-Abelian gauge excitations, whose Lie-algebra-valued currents are ''twisted'' by nontrivial automorphisms. The twisted models have the same critical dimension as the corresponding untwisted models; however, their respective spectra are radically different.
