MagmaFlow: A desktop platform for artificial intelligence‐driven expression analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
MagmaFlow is a free, no‐code platform for gene expression analysis. It generates interactive volcano plots, links genes to literature, pathways, and diseases, prioritizes candidates using millions of publications, identifies affected biological processes, builds network diagrams, and exports publication‐ready figures and reports for macOS and Windows ...

Trajectories of Physical Function in Canadian Children With Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective We describe trajectories of physical function in children newly diagnosed with juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) and identify trajectories with persisting functional impairments and associated baseline characteristics. Methods We included patients enrolled in the Canadian Alliance of Pediatric Rheumatology Investigators (CAPRI) Registry ...

Aspects of plane waves and Taub-NUT as exact string theory solutions [PDF]

open access: yes, 2004
This thesis is a study of some aspects of string theory solutions that are exact in the inverse string tension ɑ', and thus are valid beyond the low-energy limit.

On the Polyakov Model for a Closed String [PDF]

open access: yesProgress of Theoretical Physics, 1984
Summary: A discussion is given of Polyakov's bosonic string model in terms of a doubly-connected domain mapped to simple surfaces in a three-dimensional space. The minimal surface generated by a closed string is transformed to a catenoid, and it is shown, for instance, how the Liouville equation is associated with it.

Massless fermions and superconductivity of string-wall composites

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
An axion cosmic string is known to be a chiral superconductor when the axion couples to an electrically charged fermion. After the QCD phase transition, a QCD axion string is attached by N domain walls.

Remark on modular weights in low-energy effective field theory from type II string theory

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics, 2023
We revisit the modular weights in type IIB magnetized D-brane models. The simple analysis of wave function shows that the four-dimensional matter fields have the modular weight -1/2, but it may shift as one in type IIA intersecting D-brane models.

Cumulative Social Disadvantage and Disease Activity in Juvenile Idiopathic Arthritis: A Childhood Arthritis and Rheumatology Research Alliance Registry Study

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Social determinants of health (SDOH) contribute to juvenile idiopathic arthritis (JIA) disparities, but most studies have assessed SDOH independently rather than cumulatively across individual, family, and neighborhood levels. Using a socioecological framework, we investigated the relationship among cumulative social disadvantage ...

One loop phenomenology of type II string theory: intersecting d-branes and noncommutativity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2007
We examine one loop amplitudes for open and closed strings in certain D-brane configurations, and investigate the consequences for phenomenology. Initially we consider open strings at D6-brane intersections.

Strings, matrix models, and meanders [PDF]

open access: yesNuclear Physics B - Proceedings Supplements, 1996
I briefly review the present status of bosonic strings and discretized random surfaces in D>1 which seem to be in a polymer rather than stringy phase. As an explicit example of what happens, I consider the Kazakov-Migdal model with a logarithmic potential which is exactly solvable for any D (at large D for an arbitrary potential). I discuss also the

The capacity of some Pólya string models [PDF]

open access: yes2016 IEEE International Symposium on Information Theory (ISIT), 2016
We study random string-duplication systems, which we call Pólya string models. These are motivated by DNA storage in living organisms, and certain random mutation processes that affect their genome. Unlike previous works that study the combinatorial capacity of string-duplication systems, or various string statistics, this work provides exact capacity ...
