String phenomenology from a worldsheet perspective [PDF]
I argue that the ten dimensional non-supersymmetric tachyonic superstrings may serve as good starting points for the construction of viable phenomenological vacua.

ASPECTS OF STRING PHENOMENOLOGY IN PARTICLE PHYSICS AND COSMOLOGY [PDF]
We discuss possible connections between several scales in particle physics and cosmology, such the the electroweak, inflation, dark energy and Planck scales.

Abstract This chapter reviews a number of topics in the field of string phenomenology, focusing on orientifold/F-theory models yielding semirealistic low-energy physics. The emphasis is on the extraction of the low-energy effective action and possible tests of specific models at the LHC.

LHC string phenomenology [PDF]
We argue that it is possible to address the deeper LHC Inverse Problem, to gain insight into the underlying theory from LHC signatures of new physics. We propose a technique which may allow us to distinguish among, and favor or disfavor, various classes of underlying theoretical constructions using (assumed) new physics signals at the LHC.

Fine-tuned vs. natural supersymmetry: what does the string landscape predict?
A vast array of (metastable) vacuum solutions arise from string compactifications, each leading to different 4-d laws of physics. The space of these solutions, known as the string landscape, allows for an environmental solution to the cosmological ...

LHC phenomenology for string hunters [PDF]
We consider extensions of the standard model based on open strings ending on D-branes, with gauge bosons due to strings attached to stacks of D-branes and chiral matter due to strings stretching between intersecting D-branes. Assuming that the fundamental string mass scale is in the TeV range and the theory is weakly coupled, we discuss possible ...

Quantum supergravity, supergravity anomalies and string phenomenology
I discuss the role of quantum effects in the phenomenology of effective supergravity theories from compactification of the weakly coupled heterotic string. An accurate incorporation of these effects requires a regularization procedure that respects local

Radiative natural supersymmetry emergent from the string landscape
In string theory with flux compactifications, anthropic selection for structure formation from a discretuum of vacuum energy values provides at present our only understanding of the tiny yet positive value of the cosmological constant.

Δ(54) flavor phenomenology and strings [PDF]
Delta(54) can serve as a flavor symmetry in particle physics, but remains almost unexplored. We show that in a classification of semi-realistic Z3xZ3 heterotic string orbifolds, Delta(54) turns out to be the most natural flavor symmetry, providing additional motivation for its study.
