Gauge string in the fermion asymmetric matter [PDF]

open access: yes, 1999
Two new effects of interaction of the gauge string with a homogeneous density of fermions are considered in a gauge model with an anomalous coupling of vector fields with fermions.

Bound states can stabilize electroweak strings [PDF]

open access: yesPhysics Letters B, 1993
We show that the electroweak $Z-$string can be stabilized by the presence of bound states of a complex scalar field. We argue that fermions coupled to the scalar field of the string can also make the string stable and discuss the physical case where the string is coupled to quarks and leptons.

KÄHLER STABILIZED, MODULAR INVARIANT HETEROTIC STRING MODELS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2007
We review the theory and phenomenology of effective supergravity theories based on orbifold compactifications of the weakly-coupled heterotic string. In particular, we consider theories in which the four-dimensional theory displays target space modular invariance and where the dilatonic mode undergoes Kähler stabilization.

Robust Time-Delay Feedback Control of Vehicular CACC Systems with Uncertain Dynamics

open access: yesSensors, 2020
This paper proposes a new, robust time-delay cooperative adaptive cruise control (CACC) approach for vehicle platooning systems with uncertain dynamics and varying communication delay.

Current-Carrying Zero Mode for the Nielsen-Olesen String [PDF]

open access: yes, 1997
Zero modes of strings in the abelian Higgs model are analyzed. In spite of the fact that the gauge symmetry is not broken in the string center, the corresponding zero mode is shown to exist and to see it one has to analyze carefully the dependence on ...

IMPROVED STABILITY FOR PULSATING MULTISPIN STRING SOLITONS [PDF]

open access: yesInternational Journal of Modern Physics A, 2006
We derive and analyze, analytically and numerically, the equations for perturbations around the pulsating two-spin string soliton in AdS 5×S5. We show that the pulsation in S5 indeed improves the stability properties of the two-spin string soliton in AdS 5, in the sense that the more pulsation we have, the higher spin we can allow and still have ...

Black String in dRGT Massive Gravity [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
We present a cylindrically symmetric solution, both charged and uncharged, which is known as a black string solution to the nonlinear ghost-free massive gravity found by de Rham, Gabadadze, and Tolley (dRGT). This "dRGT black string" can be thought of as

Open-closed string correspondence: D-brane decay in curved space [PDF]

open access: yes, 2006
This paper analyzes the effect of curved closed string backgrounds on the stability of D-branes within boundary string field theory. We identify the non-local open string background that implements shifts in the closed string background and analyze the ...

Stability of superconducting strings

open access: yesJournal of High Energy Physics
Abstract We investigate the stability of superconducting strings as bound states of strings and fermion zero modes at both the classical and quantum levels. The dynamics of these superconducting strings can result in a stable configuration, known as a vorton. We mainly focus on global strings, but the majority of the discussion can
