Analysis of Thick-Strip Transmission Lines (Correspondence)
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1971A method for analyzing general thick-strip transmission lines is reported. Calculated characteristic impedances based on this method are consistent with other theory and experiment in the case of thick-strip microstrip lines. The case of thick-strip lines with three dielectric layers and shielding is also presented.

Thick-film graphite electrodes in stripping voltammetry
Fresenius' Journal of Analytical Chemistry, 1999Various types of modified thick-film graphite electrodes are reviewed. Two modification options are available: either in situ modified or beforehand. Electrodes modified in situ by various organic compounds were used for the determination of W, Mo, Cr, Ni and Mn by adsorptive stripping voltammetry. Insoluble inorganic salts, insoluble organic complexes

Design of entry strip thickness controls for tandem cold mills
Automatica, 1976The ideal characteristics of a strip thickness control system operating on the upstream stands of a tandem mill are defined. The historical development of tandem mill control system design is described and several recently published control systems are compared on the basis of how well they achieve the ideal characteristics. An entry end control system

An Improved Strip Thickness Controller for a Rolling Mill
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1984Abstract This paper describes an improved controller design for a conventional metal strip rolling mill with two work-rolls supported by larger diameter backup-rolls. The strategy is based on a model which represents the effects of backup-roll eccentricity, the plastic deformation process and elastic strains in the mill stand components. The strategy

Robust Hot Strip Mill Thickness Control
IFAC Proceedings Volumes, 1998Abstract A multivariable regulator for a hot strip mill is developed which is robustly stable for changes to the mill modulus while still providing high strip thickness accuracy. This is in contrast to the conventional automatic gauge control which has to trade of nominal performance to provide robust stability.

Full-wave analysis of coplanar strips considering the finite strip metallization thickness
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1994An extensive analysis, based on a full-wave mode-matching technique, is described for coplanar strips (CPS) incorporating the strips' finite metallization thickness. Results for the effective dielectric constant and characteristic impedance are presented to show the effect of the metallization thickness.

Moving load on a thick sandwich plate strip
Journal of Sound and Vibration, 1987Abstract This paper is concerned with the steady state response of a thick sandwich strip plate to a moving line load of constant magnitude. The problem is studied on the basis of a thick plate theory and the solution is obtained by applying the method of the complex Fourier transform.

Strip mining in thick overburden context: A review
Mining Technology: Transactions of the Institutions of Mining and MetallurgyAmong surface mining methods, strip mining is a widely used technique for extracting mineral resources. This method is suitable for most near-surface stratiform sedimentary deposits and has historically been linked to surface mining of deposits such as coal, phosphates, and other natural substances.

Thickness Corrections for Capacitive Obstacles and Strip Conductors
IEEE Transactions on Microwave Theory and Techniques, 1960Capacitive thickness corrections are derived exactly for two basic geometries involving pairs of semi-infinite plates. In one arrangement the pair of plates are coplanar, while in the other they are parallel to each other. In each case the total capacitance per unit length between the pair of plates is infinite, but the incremental increase of ...
