Compact Multilayer PCB-Based Marchand Baluns With Maximized Fractional Bandwidth

open access: yesIEEE Access
This manuscript is centred around a unique and comprehensive RF design methodology that allows to accurately predict and maximize the fractional bandwidth (FBW) of multilayer-based Marchand baluns (MBs) while achieving a highly-miniaturized footprint ...

Coupling in multilayer devices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2021
Novel design for devices in multilayer stacked is proposed. Split Ring resonators and Complementary Split Ring resonators are used, in microstrip or dual stripline-microstrip configuration to build different devices.

An accurate analytical representation of the continuous spectrum excited on multilayer stripline structures in spectral-gap regions

open access: yes, 2003
In this work, an approximate asymptotic closed-form representation is derived for the continuous-spectrum current excited by a delta-gap source in a multilayer stripline.

Lightweight and cost efficient spaceborn patch antenna

open access: yes, 2022
S.242-245In order to achieve lightweight yet low cost antennas for use in a geostationary space environment, the GeReLEO-SMART project develops a substrate-based, multilayer antenna structure which can replace traditional horn antennas as feeds for ...

Wideband Endfire Antenna Array for 5G mmWave Mobile Terminals

open access: yesIEEE Access
In this paper, a compact endfire antenna array with low-profile, small clearance, and wideband operation is proposed for millimeter-wave (mmWave) fifth-generation (5G) mobile terminals. The wideband operation is achieved by exciting two identical bow-tie

A 100 GHz Switched Beam Patch Antenna Array With 4  × ${\boldsymbol{\times }}$ 4 Butler Matrix Based on Metallic‐Nanowire‐Filled Membrane

open access: yesMicrowave and Optical Technology Letters, Volume 67, Issue 9, September 2025.
ABSTRACT This paper presents a switched beam patch antenna array fed by a 4 × 4 Butler Matrix (BM) working at 100 GHz for the first time, based on a novel metallic‐nanowire‐filled membrane technology (MnM). Butler matrix (BM) is well‐known as a simple passive beam‐forming network with low loss to realize switched beam.

Pattern‐Reconfigurable Antenna Using Four‐Elements Planar Bended Dipole Array for 5G Beam‐Switching Applications

open access: yesEngineering Reports, Volume 7, Issue 4, April 2025.
New 5G base stations require antennas capable of directing the beam to the mobile terminal. In this paper we propose an array of 4 dipoles reconfigurable in radiation pattern. The beam can switch in four directions by controlling the switch states implemented in the arms of each dipole.

Plasmonic Nanocavity to Boost Single Photon Emission From Defects in Thin Hexagonal Boron Nitride

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, Volume 19, Issue 3, February 5, 2025.
The quantum properties of single photon emitters in thin hexagonal boron nitride flakes are enhanced at room temperature using metallic nanocavities composed of silver nanocubes and gold film. The hybrid nanophotonic structure creates a rapid speedup and enhancement in single photon emission due to the designed plasmon nanocavity.

A 32‐channel high‐impedance honeycomb‐shaped receive array for temporal lobes exploration at 11.7T

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, Volume 93, Issue 1, Page 433-447, January 2025.
Abstract Purpose The newly operational 11.7T Iseult scanner provides an improved global SNR in the human brain. This gain in SNR can be pushed even further locally by designing region‐focused dense receive arrays. The temporal lobes are particularly interesting to neuroscientists as they are associated with language and concept recognition.
