A scalable 3–15 GHz 256‐element active phased array for ultra‐wideband multi‐functional RF sensor systems

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
The design and experimental validation of an ultra‐wideband 256‐element active phased array operating across the 3–15 GHz frequency range is proposed in this letter. These findings highlight the potential of the array for multifunctional sensor applications on resource‐constrained platforms such as spaceborne and airborne systems, with stringent size ...

Wideband Wide‐Scanning Phased Array Based on Connected SIW Cavities and Slit Antenna

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper proposes a novel broadband wide scanning angle phased array antenna. The antenna elements are fed from the bottom via a coaxial feed, with an impedance matching network formed by a coaxial‐to‐stripline transition that couples to a ‘I‐shaped’ slot antenna.

Signal Integrity Optimization of RF/Microwave Transmission Lines in Multilayer PCBs

open access: yes, 2019
While allowing for flexible trace routing and device miniaturization, multilayer printed circuit boards (PCB) suffer from performance issues at high frequency due to the impedance mismatch caused by vertical transitions.

Design of a Low‐Noise and Low‐Profile K‐Band Downconverter Based on LTCC Technology

open access: yesElectronics Letters, Volume 61, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper presents a miniaturised, lightweight K‐band downconverter based on LTCC (low‐temperature co‐fired ceramic) technology with a noise figure (NF) of 2.1 dB. The downconverter integrates an LTCC multilayer substrate, a metal cover plate featuring fuzz button connectors, and a metallic shell.

A Broadband LTCC‐Based Cavity‐Backed Patch Phased Array Antenna for Ka‐Band Applications

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This paper introduces a 4 × 4 millimetre‐wave phased array antenna operating in the Ka‐band (27–34 GHz) fabricated using low‐temperature co‐fired ceramic (LTCC) technology. The array employs aperture‐coupled fed patch antenna elements with an oversized aperture to enhance gain and bandwidth.

A Coplanar Stripline Filter With Out‐of‐Band Absorption for Wideband Operation

open access: yesIET Microwaves, Antennas &Propagation, Volume 19, Issue 1, January/December 2025.
This article presents a coplanar stripline (CPS) reflectionless filter that integrates out‐of‐band absorption, exploring a novel configuration that promotes applications of reflectionless filters. By taking advantage of the CPS structure, the CPS absorptive resonator is initially proposed and studied to keep lossless transmission at its resonance and ...

Channel-reconfigurable filter with integrated switch in multilayer LCP package

open access: yes, 2012
This paper investigates a new scheme of channel-switchable filter, which consists of 2 stages of optimum stub filters. By integrating a double pole double throw (DPDT) switch, 4 different states/channels with the same absolute bandwidth have been ...

Compact Multilayered Bandpass Filter With High Selectivity and Four Transmission Zeros Using a Feedback Capacitor

open access: yesInternational Journal of RF and Microwave Computer-Aided Engineering, Volume 2025, Issue 1, 2025.
In this article, a compact high selectivity bandpass filter with four transmission zeros (TZs) based on multilayer liquid crystal polymer (LCP) is proposed. A symmetric LC feedback structure is innovatively integrated into the conventional filter topology using the design of experiment (DOE) method, introducing two additional TZs in the stopband to ...
