Se obtuvo cambute fresco de tres localidades de la costa del Pacífico costarricense: Lagarto (lo°06'N,85°48'W), Bahía Ballena (9°42'N,85°0rW) y Golfito (8°38N,83°10'W) . El peso promedio por individuo varió entre 141.9 y 241.3 g (41.3 - 65.6 % comestible). El 72 % de la carne es agua, 23 % proteína y 3 % cenizas.
