Study on the Thermal Conductivity and Permeability of Composite SrCl2-NH3 Working Pair under the Condition of Different Values for Adsorption Quantity

open access: yesZhileng xuebao, 2013
Strontium chloride as one chemical adsorbent is characterized by swelling and agglomeration phenomena in adsorption/desorption process, which will further affect the thermal conductivity and permeability of the adsorbent.

Spatially Modulated Morphotropic Phase Boundaries in a Compressively Strained Multiferroic Thin Film

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT The coexisting rhombohedral‐like (R′, MA) and tetragonal‐like (T′, MC) monoclinic phases in compressively strained bismuth ferrite thin films exhibit exceptional piezoelectric and magnetic properties. While previous studies have largely focused on probing the morphotropic phase boundaries (MPBs) comprising ordered R′/T′ twins, their self ...

Histological evaluation of the effects of systemic administration of strontium ranelate on bone healing in rat tibia fractures

open access: yesRevista Científica
This study aimed to investigate the effects of strontium renelate, a known bisphosphonate-like agent with effects on bone tissue, on bone fracture and defect healing using histological methods.

Toward Tunable Magnetic Dirac Semimetals: Mn Doping of Cd3As2

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
Dilute magnetic doping of topological semimetals offers a pathway to tune the topological phase via time reversal symmetry breaking. This is achieved by alloying the Dirac semimetal Cd3As2 with Mn via molecular beam epitaxy. Magnetotransport measurements provide preliminary evidence of changes to the electronic structure consistent with the emergence ...

Ultrasensitive Anti‐Stokes Luminescence Thermometry in Transition Metal Dichalcogenide Monolayers

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a highly sensitive nanothermometer using anti‐Stokes photoluminescence, also known as photoluminescence upconversion (UPL), in monolayer tungsten disulfide. A strong resonantly enhanced UPL is observed, confirming the central role of optical phonons in the PL upconversion mechanism.

Reduced Graphene Oxide Transparent Electrodes Enabling Compact Soft Tunable Lenses

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
By spray‐coating an elastomeric membrane with reduced graphene oxide (rGO) at various surface densities, elastomeric actuators are manufactured. Electro‐mechano‐optical characterizations show the suitability of rGO as an effective material for compliant, semi‐transparent electrodes, enabling soft electrically tunable lenses with a compact form factor ...

Shape Memory Microneedle to Prevent Risks of Reproductive Hormone Therapy by Switching Sustained to Burst Release Under a Single Transdermal Insertion

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
A shape‐memory microneedle system enables reproductive hormone therapy through a single transdermal insertion. The X‐shaped device sustains follicle‐stimulating hormone release for three days, and mild heating restores the O shape to trigger burst human chorionic gonadotropin release.

Chemical Maturation Controls Bioavailability of Fetuin‐A‐Mineral Complexes in Biomineralization

open access: yesAdvanced Functional Materials, EarlyView.
The role of Fetuin‐A‐mineral complexes in matrix mineralization is unclear. Here, Fetuin‐A‐mineral complexes were found to exist in functionally distinct states that determine mineral bioavailability: chemically labile calciprotein monomers directly mineralize collagen fibrils, while chemically matured primary calciprotein particles require cellular ...

Effect of Mechanical Activation and Excess Graphite on the Formation of SrCO3 from Celestite Via Black-Ash Method [PDF]

open access: yesIranian Journal of Materials Science and Engineering
Celestite ore, the primary mineral for producing strontium compounds, particularly strontium carbonate, is processed using the black ash method, which involves carbothermic reduction, water leaching, and carbonation.

Mechanical and Electrical Phenotype of hiPSC‐Cardiomyocytes on Fibronectin‐Based Hydrogels

open access: yesAdvanced Healthcare Materials, EarlyView.
We introduce fibronectin‐based PEG hydrogels with controlled rigidity to enable the culture of iPSC‐derived cardiomyocytes. These substrates offer an alternative to the current culture of these cells on fibronectin‐coated glass, providing enhanced structural and functional behavior. The system provides a more physiologically relevant platform to assess
