Plasmic degradation of human fibrinogen I. Structural characterization of degradation products
Biochimica et Biophysica Acta (BBA) - Protein Structure, 1972Abstract 1. 1. Fragments X, Y, D, and E were prepared by plasmic degradation of human fibrinogen and purified by gel filtration and chromatography. Molecular weights of reduced polypeptide chains of fibrinogen and its degradation products were studied by polyacrylamide gel electrophoresis in the presence of sodium dodecyl sulfate and urea. 2.

Role of eicosanoids in structural degradation in osteoarthritis
Current Opinion in Rheumatology, 2003Osteoarthritis is characterized mainly by degenerative changes in joint cartilage, ultimately resulting in loss of cartilage, and alterations in the subchondral bone. Osteoarthritis osteoblasts show a number of metabolic alterations that may interfere with normal cell metabolism and signaling, possibly leading to altered extracellular matrix ...

Modifications of the Mesoscopic Structure of Cellulose in Paper Degradation
Physical Review Letters, 2006Paper is the main component of a huge quantity of cultural heritage. It is primarily composed of cellulose that undergoes significant degradation with the passage of time. By using small angle neutron scattering (SANS), we investigated cellulose's supramolecular structure, which allows access to degradation agents, in ancient and modern samples.

Strategies for Elucidation of Degradant Structures and Degradation Pathways
2012In this chapter, strategies for elucidation of degradant structures and degradation pathways are discussed. The emphasis is placed on the use of the liquid chromatography-mass spectrometry (LC-MSn) molecular fingerprinting technique (n is typically 1 to 4) in conjunction with mechanism-based stress studies and nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR ...

On Response Prediction of Degrading Structures
Volume 3: 25th Computers and Information in Engineering Conference, Parts A and B, 2005All structures degrade when acted upon by cyclic forces associated with earthquakes, high winds, and sea waves. Identification and prediction of degradation is thus a problem of considerable practical significance in the field of engineering mechanics.

Structured Degradation Model for Object Tracking in Non-uniform Degraded Videos
2016Structure information is a hot spot currently in the domain of computer vision. As many people had applied structure information to their method, few people employed degradation information to their algorithm. However the degradation itself contains some important information.

The structure of degraded, mangle gum
Carbohydrate Research, 1975Abstract A degraded gum obtained from mangle gum by autohydrolysis consists of residues of L -arabinose, D -galactose, L -rhamnose, D -galacturonic acid, and 4-O-methyl- D -glucuronic acid in the molar proportions of 15:13.5:26.7:36:4.1. Electrophoretic data indicated that the degraded gum is homogeneous.

Structure and degradation of tyranno fibres
Materials Letters, 1989Abstract Tyranno fibre structure and stability have been studied using magic angle spinning nuclear magnetic resonance spectroscopy and electron-optical methods. Tyranno is a non-crystalline Si-Ti-C-O fibre with carbon and oxygen dispersed within mixed local tetrahedral units. High-temperature annealing replaces mixed tetrahedra with segregated SiC 4

Discovering Hidden Structural Degradations
2012Structures degrade due to a variety of reasons such as environmental actions, overloading, and natural calamities. Inspection, diagnosis, and prognosis of damage in installations are imperative for avoiding their catastrophic failures. However, a reliable tool for early detection of damages in large structures has remained elusive.
