Perspectives in educating molecular pathologists on liquid biopsy: Toward integrative, equitable, and decentralized precision oncology

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Liquid biopsy enables minimally invasive, real‐time molecular profiling through analysis of circulating biomarkers in biological fluids. This Perspective highlights the importance of training pathologists through integrative educational programs, such as the European Masters in Molecular Pathology, to ensure effective and equitable implementation of ...

Abstract of: On Cavitation in Transparent Structural Silicone Adhesive: TSSA

open access: yesChallenging Glass Conference Proceedings, 2018
Cavitation in rubber-like materials describes sudden void growth of an initially voided material under hydrostatic tension until the material fails. To study the cavitation effect numerically, classical cavitation criteria are coupled with a continuum ...

Screw pull-out force predictions in porcine radii using efficient nonlinear µFE models including contact and pre-damage

open access: yesFrontiers in Bioengineering and Biotechnology
Nonlinear micro finite element (µFE) models have become the gold-standard for accurate numerical modeling of bone-screw systems. However, the detailed representation of bone microstructure, along with the inclusion of nonlinear material and contact, and ...

Approximation methods for combined thermal/structural design [PDF]

open access: yes
Two approximation concepts for combined thermal/structural design are evaluated. The first concept is an approximate thermal analysis based on the first derivatives of structural temperatures with respect to design variables.

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Combining antibody conjugates with cytotoxic and immune‐stimulating payloads maximizes anti‐cancer activity

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Methods to improve antibody–drug conjugate (ADC) treatment durability in cancer therapy are needed. We utilized ADCs and immune‐stimulating antibody conjugates (ISACs), which are made from two non‐competitive antibodies, to enhance the entry of toxic payloads into cancer cells and deliver immunostimulatory agents into immune cells.
