Design Sensitivity Metric for Structural Dynamic Response
AIAA Journal, 1998An approach to study the sensitivity of dynamic responses for structural systems with respect to a set of design parameters is presented. The sensitivity is evaluated by considering the behavior of the system response when the design parameters vary within a given region of the design space. The sensitivity is computed by means of approximate responses,

Dynamic response of large space structures
Acta Astronautica, 1982Abstract In the first part the case of a one-dimensional string of bays is firstly considered, and the equations for the most general case of mass and stiffness are derived. A procedure very similar to numerical integration is discussed. When there are many bays, the procedure becomes too heavy, and a “finite elements” approach is very useful.

Dynamic Response of Middle-Ear Structures
The Journal of the Acoustical Society of America, 1967Automatic tracing of vibrations from several locations on the tympanic membrane and from the stapedial footplate, in human anatomical preparations, was performed by use of a capacitive-probe vibration meter. Normally, the vibrations of the tympanic membrane at the umbo and along the junction with the malleus were in synchrony with those of the stapes ...

Dynamic Response of a Single Interface in a Biocomposite Structure
Physical Review Letters, 2015Biological composite materials are known to be tough, stiff, stable, viscoelastic bodies, that can creep, recover, absorb energy, and filter vibrations. Their multifunctionality is associated with their architectures, which often consist of mineral units surrounded by organic interfaces that play a key role in the performance of the entire composite ...

Response variability in structural dynamics
Earthquake Engineering & Structural Dynamics, 1991AbstractThis paper presents a technique for treating uncertainties in the dynamic models of a structural system. The formulation of the method is presented for a simple case of a single‐degree‐of‐freedom linear oscillator. The uncertainties are modelled as random variables and are assumed to be time‐independent.

Dynamic Response Of Offshore Structures
Proceedings of Offshore South East Asia Show, 1982Abstract This paper discusses the importance of dynamic effects on load predictions and structural responses for various types of offshore structures. In addition to wave, wind and current loads, seismic and vibration analyses are emphasized for pile-supported structures.
