Dynamic Response of Softening Structures
Journal of Structural Engineering, 1987Computation of the full response of concrete frame structures to severe dynamic loads requires consideration of softening in addition to plasticity and hysteresis. Critical softening parameters and ground frequencies are determined for simple flexural structures.

On the dynamic response of lightweight structures
Computer Methods in Applied Mechanics and Engineering, 1983Abstract In this paper, the experimental determination of the dynamic response of lightweight structures is described. The experimental set-up, the required hardware system and some important points of the software system are described. Some results are displayed graphically and compared with computational results.

Dynamic Response of Structures
2001Basic principles of structural dynamics are presented with emphasis on applications to the ea rthquake resistant design of building structures. Dynamic characteristics of single degree of freedom systems are discussed along with their application to single story buildings.

COUPLING IN THE DYNAMIC RESPONSE OF NONLINEAR UNSYMMETRIC STRUCTURES
Computers & Structures, 1981Abstract A procedure is presented for investigating the stability of the torsional component of response in a nonlinear unsymmetric structure subjected to translational excitation. The torsional motion is found to be unstable due to the nonlinearity of the resisting elements if the parameters of the system are such that they fall within the region ...

Dynamic response of floating structures
Engineering Structures, 1978Abstract The analysis techniques for offshore floating structures have, until recently, been borrowed from the study of ship motions. These structures, however, differ in many ways from surface ships and simplified procedures developed for the latter are, therefore, not applicable.

Dynamic Response of Sandwich Structures to Impulsive Loads
Volume 11: Mechanics of Solids, Structures and Fluids, 2009This article considers the dynamic response of sandwich structures to various pulses. During the early phase, waves propagating through the thickness of the sandwich can cause damage to the core. Once the overall bending deformation is established, a different type of response is observed.

Dynamic Responses of Floating Structures
Journal of the Waterway, Port, Coastal and Ocean Division, 1978Theoretical and experimental studies were conducted to investigate wave loadings on, and structural responses of, floating platforms. Strip theory is applied to calculate wave forces on the structure. The wave forces, the interaction between waves and the structure, and the resulting inertia forces are then applied to the structure, as external forces,

Structure redesign for improved dynamic response
Journal of Guidance, Control, and Dynamics, 1992The concepts of multivariable control design are used to redesign structures represented by lumped parameter models. When the mass is held constant, the changing of passive structural members is mathematically equivalent to an output feedback decentralized control problem. When the mass is also allowed to change, a generalization of the output feedback

Dynamic Inelastic Structural Response
1997The topic of structural impact is concerned with the response of structures subjected to dynamic loadings producing large inelastic strains and permanent deformations. This is relevant to safety calculations and energy absorption estimates for structural crashworthiness studies. The rigid-plastic method of analysis is introduced and used to examine the
