Early‐life exposure to a high‐fat diet altered intact Achilles tendons in rat offspring, making them thinner, stiffer, and molecularly distinct even without injury. These findings suggest that developmental high‐fat diet exposure may impair tendon quality and increase susceptibility to mechanical overload or tendon injury later in life.

A higher invariant for matroids
The Möbius invariant μ, essential to the classification of surfaces, is less useful in the study of exchange geometries (matroids) because it undergoes sizeable fluctuations as a result of minor structural changes, such as the lengthening of an arc.

Reliability approach for safe designing on a locking system [PDF]
The aim of this work is to predict the failure probability of a locking system. This failure probability is assessed using complementary methods: the First-Order Reliability Method (FORM) and Second-Order Reliability Method (SORM) as approximated methods,

Directed evolution of enzymes at the crossroads of tradition and innovation
An iterative cycle of data‐driven enzyme optimization comprising four stages: genetic diversification of a template enzyme, expression of protein variants, high‐throughput evaluation, and machine‐learning‐guided redesign of the next variant library.

A parametrised version of Moser's modifying terms theorem [PDF]
A sharpened version of Moser's `modifying terms' KAM theorem is derived, and it is shown how this theorem can be used to investigate the persistence of invariant tori in general situations, including those where some of the Floquet exponents of the ...

Geometric criticality in scale-invariant networks
Dimension in physical systems determines universal properties at criticality. Yet, the impact of structural perturbations on dimensionality remains largely unexplored.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Invariant almost contact structure on the real extension of a sphere
The existence of contact and almost contact metric structures invariant under the group of motions on the real extension of a two-dimensional sphere with a Riemannian direct product metric was examined.

Hyperosmotic stress triggers the relocation of the CFIm complex from the nucleus to the cytoplasm. This shift creates a nuclear ‘stoichiometric bottleneck’, limiting CFIm availability for mRNA processing. Consequently, specific mRNAs like NUDT21 and DICER1 undergo targeted 3′UTR shortening, demonstrating how spatial protein dynamics drive rapid ...
