Atomic mechanism of polarization-controlled surface reconstruction in ferroelectric thin films
Miniature of electronic devices is attractive yet challenging due to structural variation at nanoscale. Here, Gao et al. report atomic imaging of reconstruction and unusual domain walls on Pb(Zr0.2Ti0.8)O3surfaces, providing possibilities to engineer ...

The Ile181Asn variant of human UDP‐xylose synthase (hUXS1), associated with a short‐stature genetic syndrome, has previously been reported as inactive. Our findings demonstrate that Ile181Asn‐hUXS1 retains catalytic activity similar to the wild‐type but exhibits reduced stability, a looser oligomeric state, and an increased tendency to precipitate ...

Tuning Pb(II) Adsorption from Aqueous Solutions on Ultrathin Iron Oxychloride (FeOCl) Nanosheets.
Structural tunability and surface functionality of layered two-dimensional (2-D) iron oxychloride (FeOCl) nanosheets are critical for attaining exceptional adsorption properties. In this study, we combine computational and experimental tools to elucidate

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Jet structure in 2.76 TeV Pb Pb collisions at ALICE
We present the analysis of the semi-inclusive distribution of reconstructed charged particle jets recoiling from a high pT hadron trigger in central Pb Pb collisions at $\sqrt{s_{NN}}=2.76$ TeV. We measure, subtract and unfold the large underlying event background in such collisions, utilizing a novel technique that does not impose fragmentation bias ...

Structural biology of ferritin nanocages
Ferritin is a conserved iron‐storage protein that sequesters iron as a ferric mineral core within a nanocage, protecting cells from oxidative damage and maintaining iron homeostasis. This review discusses ferritin biology, structure, and function, and highlights recent cryo‐EM studies revealing mechanisms of ferritinophagy, cellular iron uptake, and ...
