Fluid-structure interaction and ADINA
Computers & Structures, 1983Abstract The theoretical basis of a fluid-structure interaction decoupling approximation for transient analysis of wave excited submerged structures is outlined. The approximation, called the Doubly Asymptotic Approximation (DAA) has been included in ADINA. Program modifications and additions are described.

Biomolecular Structure and Interactions
2020At a molecular level, organic structures come about from electromagnetic interactions and from nature’s quantum behavior. Humans now have a successful, accurate, and predictive description of atoms and molecules, applying the theory of quantum electrodynamics. Included in the theory is all of chemistry, which includes the biochemistry of life.

Protein–protein interaction and quaternary structure
Quarterly Reviews of Biophysics, 2008AbstractProtein–protein recognition plays an essential role in structure and function. Specific non-covalent interactions stabilize the structure of macromolecular assemblies, exemplified in this review by oligomeric proteins and the capsids of icosahedral viruses.

Physisorption: Structures and Interactions
1982We survey simple inert gas adsorption emphasizing surfaces where registry forces play an unimportant role. Such systems allow a detailed analysis of the structural and thermodynamic properties in terms of adatom-adatom and adatom-substrate interactions. We discuss the experimental techniques, primarily those giving structural information. Comparison of

Prion domains: sequences, structures and interactions
Nature Cell Biology, 2005Mammalian and most fungal infectious proteins (also known as prions) are self-propagating amyloid, a filamentous beta-sheet structure. A prion domain determines the infectious properties of a protein by forming the core of the amyloid. We compare the properties of known prion domains and their interactions with the remainder of the protein and with ...

Ryanodine receptors: structure and macromolecular interactions
Current Opinion in Structural Biology, 1997Ryanodine receptors (RyRs), a class of intracellular calcium release channels, are the largest ion channels known. Recently, cryoelectron microscopy and image reconstructions of isolated receptors have shown that most of the protein mass forms a porous, multidomain cytoplasmic assembly.

Interaction, System and Structure
1995Although there certainly are other analytical units in sociology, such as ‘aspects’ (or ‘elements’) and ‘units’ of action, 1 shall follow Marx and deem interaction the ‘cell’, the ‘elementary form’ for the analysis of social systems. As we have seen in Chapter 4, in its reified commodity expression under capitalist conditions, it received a privileged ...

AAV Capsid Structure and Cell Interactions
2011The Adeno-associated viruses (AAVs) are not associated with any diseases, and their ability to package non-genomic DNA and to transduce different cell/tissue populations has generated significant interest in understanding their basic biology in efforts to improve their utilization for corrective gene delivery.

Atomic Structure and Interactions
2019If one wonders about what is common amongst all things, perhaps the best answer would be that they all are made up of atoms. It is noteworthy realization that different arrangement of atoms lead to such different set of properties, behavior and character that no two living beings are alike! This thinking may further be applied to man-made and naturally
