Structures for an interactive on-line thesaurus

International Journal of Computer & Information Sciences, 1973
A data structure for a plant pathology thesaurus is implemented as a continuous string of characters. A hashing function is used to access terms and their related terms. A prefix hashing schema is described which permits thesaurus file access with partial spellings and defines file blocking to improve sequential (alphabetic) scans.

On the interactions of catalase with subcellular structure

Molecular and Cellular Biochemistry, 1989
The interaction of mouse liver catalase with subcellular membranes was studied, and an ionic interaction with a variety of membranes, including those derived from the microsomes, was observed. The interaction with microsomal membranes was found to be abolished by pre-treatment of catalase with neuraminidase, indicating a functional significance for ...

The Structure of Interaction

2011
We have seen that a fundamental difference between the Process Grammar analysis of shape morphology and the Catastrophe Theory analysis of shape morphology is this:

Interaction of Structures

1992
For the contact problem of two bodies, we mention a comparison of model solutions accordingly to methods of the finite element and the boundary one. A number of applications of this problem may be found, e. g. a simulation of the tunnel lining action appears to be the most characteristic, and on a tunnel wall carried on a bedrock or a beam elastically ...

Exploitation interactions and the structure of ecoystems

Journal of Theoretical Biology, 1977
Abstract The techniques of input-output economics have recently been applied to describing energy flow through ecosystems. This paper considers interactions arising from resource exploitation, and in particular competition, in light of these concepts.

Structured interaction in game theory

Proceedings of the 9th conference on Theoretical aspects of rationality and knowledge - TARK '03, 2003
Over the last several years, a number of authors have developed graphtheoretic or network models for large-population game theory. In such models, each player or organization is represented by a vertex in a graph, and payoffs are determined by the actions of only those in the neighborhood of a player.

Interacting at the Symbolic and Structural Levels

2007
This article presents an approach to music interaction and creativity at the symbolic and structural levels. While common music interaction occurs at the symbolic level, on a sequence of notes, it is the structural level, the focus of this writing, that allows interaction with music contents at a higher degree. This requires identification and creation

Interactive synthesis of engineering structures

Computer-Aided Design, 1984
ISES – Interactive Synthesis of Engineering Structures and components is a concept presented in this paper. Such synthesis capability represents a tool for engineering designers. By synthesis it is understood that the computer generates a structure whose form and specific configuration are unknown at the outset except for the usual data typiclly ...
