Seasonal and hydrologic variation influences habitat and functional structure of stream fish assemblages

open access: yesFrontiers in Environmental Science
IntroductionHydrologic variability is a key driver of ecological structure in lotic systems, shaping habitat conditions, taxonomic diversity, and the functional traits that mediate species’ persistence and performance (e.g., reproductive success).

Golgi enzymes are retrieved from the plasma membrane to the trans‐Golgi network

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Golgi enzymes are traditionally considered resident proteins retained within the Golgi apparatus. Here, we demonstrate that a subset transiently reaches the cell surface and is subsequently retrieved to the trans‐Golgi network via retrograde transport. Using a nanobody‐based toolkit, we uncover a dynamic trafficking cycle of several Golgi enzymes.

Ecological baselines and shared governance structure variation among voluntary biodiversity credit schemes

open access: yesCommunications Sustainability
Biodiversity credit markets are promoted as a scalable mechanism for closing the conservation finance gap, yet credibility remains a central challenge. Here, we assess 12 voluntary biodiversity credit schemes, selected from an initial pool of 20, against

Ligand‐dependent transcriptional heterogeneity in cell cycle gene expression delays G1/S entry

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
EGF and HRG induce distinct G1/S progression programs in ErbB2‐amplified BT474 breast cancer cells. Despite activating the potent ErbB2–ErbB3 heterodimer, HRG does not accelerate cell‐cycle entry. Instead, EGF promotes earlier restriction‐point passage via ERK–FOS signaling, whereas HRG activates the AKT–MYC axis, driving transcriptional heterogeneity ...

The Role of Information Structure in Word Order Variation and Word order Change. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper, I propose a novel account of word order variation and word order change in terms of competition between prosodically more or less marked forms within one grammar (contrary to the double base hypothesis).

Microparametric Syntax and Dialect Variation

open access: yes
Richard Kayne's introduction to this volume stresses that comparative work on the syntax of very closely related languages and dialects is a research tool promising to provide both a broad understanding of parameters at their finest-grained and an ...

Spelling Out P: A Unified Syntax of Afrikaans Adpositions and Verbal Particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2017
Elements of language that are typically considered to have P (=adpositional) category status frequently exhibit divergent morphosyntactic properties, and it is often the case that one and the same element exhibits divergent morphosyntactic properties ...

Power and bipower variation with stochastic volatility and jumps [PDF]

open access: yes
This paper shows that realised power variation and its extension we introduce here called realised bipower variation is somewhat robust to rare jumps.
