Correlation of the differential expression of PIK3R1 and its spliced variant, p55α, in pan‐cancer
PIK3R1 undergoes alternative splicing to generate the isoforms, p85α and p55α. By combining large patient datasets with laboratory experiments, we show that PIK3R1 spliced variants shape cancer behavior. While tumors lose the protective p85α isoform, p55α is overexpressed, changes linked to poorer survival and more pronounced in African American ...

Light Reflection and Transmission in Structured Composite Material [PDF]
The paper deals with the optical properties of composite material which consist of dielectric plate with a 2D array of silver nanoparticles. The possibility of describing the reflection and transmission of coherent electromagnetic radiation in a ...

Tumour–host interactions in Drosophila: mechanisms in the tumour micro‐ and macroenvironment
This review examines how tumour–host crosstalk takes place at multiple levels of biological organisation, from local cell competition and immune crosstalk to organism‐wide metabolic and physiological collapse. Here, we integrate findings from Drosophila melanogaster studies that reveal conserved mechanisms through which tumours hijack host systems to ...

Model-Based Posture Estimation With Structured Light System
Mechanical inaccuracies and assembly tolerances are inevitable in a wide range of engineered systems, often leading to errors in relative position and orientation, referred to as “posture.” These posture errors can reduce the control ...

In this talk I briefly explain the concept of the structure function of a photon (the best known boson). Then I review some of the current experimental evidence which confirms the existence of `strong' interactions of photon suggested by this idea. I end by pointing out how the photon `structure' has important implications for the interactions of high ...

Microfluidic electro‐viscoelastic manipulation of extracellular vesicles
The electro‐viscoelastic manipulation as a potential method for separation of particles based on size. The particles introduced as a sheath flow migrate to the channel center under the influence of simultaneously applied electric field and pressure driven flow.

Interplay between RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures in gene regulation
Methodological advances in mapping transcriptome‐wide RNA‐protein interactions and RNA structures have started to uncover the potential of RNP conformations in gene regulation. Competing RNA–RNA, RNA‐protein and protein–protein interactions shape the compaction and function of RNPs throughout their lifetime and may provide novel therapeutic targets in ...
