Flight-determined stability analysis of multiple-input-multiple-output control systems [PDF]

open access: yes
Singular value analysis can give conservative stability margin results. Applying structure to the uncertainty can reduce this conservatism. This paper presents flight-determined stability margins for the X-29A lateral-directional, multiloop control ...

On Relaxed Averaged Alternating Reflections (RAAR) Algorithm for Phase Retrieval from Structured Illuminations

open access: yes, 2016
In this paper, as opposed to the random phase masks, the structured illuminations with a pixel-dependent deterministic phase shift are considered to derandomize the model setup. The RAAR algorithm is modified to adapt to two or more diffraction patterns,

Clinical Practice Guideline for Evaluation and Management of Peripheral Nervous System Manifestations in Sjögren's Disease

open access: yesArthritis Care &Research, EarlyView.
Objective Sjögren's disease is an autoimmune disorder that can impact multiple organ systems, including the peripheral nervous system (PNS). PNS manifestations, which can exist concurrently, include mononeuropathies, polyneuropathies, and autonomic nervous system neuropathies.

Wind speed forecasting approach using conformal prediction and feature importance selection

open access: yesInternational Journal of Electrical Power & Energy Systems
Wind energy is a rising renewable energy source that plays an important role in the transition to a more sustainable energy system. Variation in wind power generation is one of the main challenges facing this energy source.

Rate Optimal Denoising of Simultaneously Sparse and Low Rank Matrices [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
We study minimax rates for denoising simultaneously sparse and low rank matrices in high dimensions. We show that an iterative thresholding algorithm achieves (near) optimal rates adaptively under mild conditions for a large class of loss functions ...

Revisiting Stability Criteria in Ball‐Milled High‐Entropy Alloys: Do Hume–Rothery and Thermodynamic Rules Equally Apply?

open access: yesAdvanced Engineering Materials, Volume 27, Issue 6, March 2025.
The stability criteria affecting the formation of high‐entropy alloys, particularly focusing in supersaturated solid solutions produced by mechanical alloying, are analyzed. Criteria based on Hume–Rothery rules are distinguished from those derived from thermodynamic relations. The formers are generally applicable to mechanically alloyed samples.

SMART: Structured Missingness Analysis and Reconstruction Technique for credit scoring

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Basel Accord emphasizes the necessity of employing internal data models to manage key credit risk components, including Probability of Default (PD), Loss Given Default (LGD), and Exposure At Default (EAD).

Culture War: Exploring the Backing from the Portuguese Catholic Church and Christian Movements to Populist Party Chega

open access: yesReligions
The endorsement from Christian circles in facilitating the rise of radical right-wing populism in Brazil and the United States, as well as the support and alliance of the Polish Catholic Church with the Law and Justice (PiS) government, are widely ...

Efficient cyclic reduction for QBDs with rank structured blocks

open access: yes, 2016
We provide effective algorithms for solving block tridiagonal block Toeplitz systems with $m\times m$ quasiseparable blocks, as well as quadratic matrix equations with $m\times m$ quasiseparable coefficients, based on cyclic reduction and on the ...

Shaped extensions of singular spectrum analysis [PDF]

open access: yes, 2014
Extensions of singular spectrum analysis (SSA) for processing of non-rectangular images and time series with gaps are considered. A circular version is suggested, which allows application of the method to the data given on a circle or on a cylinder, e.g.
