Fuzzy relationships among plant dispersal mechanisms, syndromes, and animal vectors

open access: yesEcology, Volume 107, Issue 7, July 2026.
Abstract Knowledge of which animal clades and dispersal mechanisms contribute to seed dispersal is critical for understanding the ecology and evolution of plant communities. However, a broad understanding is limited by a focus on single clades and mechanisms. Here, we analyzed a Europe‐wide multi‐clade seed dispersal dataset with interactions among 447

The Incarnational Aesthetic of David Brown☆

open access: yesInternational Journal of Systematic Theology, Volume 28, Issue 3, Page 267-285, July 2026.

Geoelectric Field Caused by Flux Transfer Events in an Ionosphere‐Coupled Vlasiator Simulation

open access: yesJournal of Geophysical Research: Space Physics, Volume 131, Issue 6, June 2026.
Abstract We report on the relationship between flux transfer events (FTEs) at Earth's magnetopause and the geoelectric field that is induced near the FTEs' magnetic footpoints. We study this system using the global hybrid‐Vlasov code Vlasiator, which has recently been extended to model ionospheric physics.

THE NAITŌ HYPOSTASIS: NAITŌ KONAN (1866–1934) AND THE JAPANESE IMPERIALIST LEGACY IN THE HISTORIOGRAPHY OF MIDDLE‐PERIOD CHINA (800–1400 CE)

open access: yesHistory and Theory, Volume 65, Issue 2, Page 203-236, June 2026.
ABSTRACT In 1955, Hisayuki Miyakawa published an article that sought to introduce American and European scholars to the work of the Japanese Sinologist Naitō Konan (1866–1934). Miyakawa drew particular attention to what he called the “Naitō hypothesis”—that is, Naitō’s argument that China became modern during the Song dynasty (960–1279).

Harnessing iEcology data to uncover invasive species behaviour

open access: yesMethods in Ecology and Evolution, Volume 17, Issue 4, Page 1022-1031, April 2026.
Abstract Invasive animal species threaten ecosystems, biodiversity and human livelihoods. Behavioural traits such as boldness, exploratory tendencies, learning ability and social interactions are known to influence invasion success. Yet these behavioural traits remain underexplored due to challenges in observing behaviour across large spatial and ...
