Quality Control of Sewage Water in Wastewater Treatment Plants using Raman Technologies

open access: yesChemie Ingenieur Technik, Volume 97, Issue 7, Page 726-739, July 2025.
Innovative Raman spectroscopy methods for enhancing wastewater treatment monitoring are introduced. Improved sensitivity in detecting low concentrations of analytes is demonstrated, addressing challenges like cross‐sensitivity and turbidity. The findings highlight the potential for more accurate and robust inline monitoring in wastewater treatment ...

Dynamic Microfluidic Synthesis of Zinc Oxide Nanowires: Impact of Channel Architecture on Growth Homogeneity and Uniformity

open access: yesAdvanced Materials Interfaces, Volume 12, Issue 9, May 5, 2025.
In situ synthesis of nanomaterials within microfluidic reactors in dynamic mode boosts the growth rate. Notably, microfluidic reactors with optimized tree‐branched microchannel networks enable outstanding homogeneity of 99% and excellent nanowires uniformity.

A new low-cost discrete bit loading using greedy power allocation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
In this paper we consider a low cost bit loading based on the greedy power allocation (GPA). Compared to the standard GPA, which is optimal in terms of maximising the data throughput, three suboptimal schemes are suggested, which perform GPA on subsets ...

Tunable Picoliter‐Scale Dropicle Formation Using Amphiphilic Microparticles with Patterned Hydrophilic Patches

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 12, Issue 12, March 27, 2025.
An amphiphilic microparticle with four discrete hydrophilic patches embedded at the inner corners of a square‐shaped hydrophobic outer layer is demonstrated. 3D computational fluid dynamics simulations predict droplet formation dynamics. Experiments recapitulate tunable dropicle configurations with reproducible volumes down to ≈200 pL.

Local reduced subspaces of subchannel‐inspired subdomains

open access: yesInternational Journal for Numerical Methods in Engineering
AbstractIn this article, we study an update of the traditional subchannel approximation utilizing local reduced order bases. Through employing the symmetries and periodicity of a 7‐pin bundle, the global domain is decomposed into numerous repeating subdomains following several dividing strategies.
