Sandhya Suri’s I for India: Documenting Transnational Subjectivity [PDF]
Documentary filmmaker Sandhya Suri’s I for India (2005) is a compilation film that presents and interprets her father’s experience of migrating from India to the UK in the 1960s and settling fully in Britain. Phytohormone brassinosteroid‐induced gene regulation by the transcription factor BIL1/BZR1 involves redox‐dependent DNA‐binding alternation and interaction with the transcription factor PIF4. The reduced BIL1/BZR1 dimer binds preferred cis‐elements, while oxidation alters its oligomerization state and disrupts DNA‐binding ability.

Subjective and objective quality assessment of degraded document images
Abstract The huge amount of degraded documents stored in libraries and archives around the world needs automatic procedures of enhancement, classification, transliteration, etc. While high-quality images of these documents are in general easy to be captured, the amount of damage these documents contain before imaging is unknown.

Antimicrobial resistance (AMR) is of huge importance, resulting in over 1 million deaths each year. Here, we describe how a new drug, enmetazobactam, designed to help fight resistant bacterial diseases, inhibits a key enzyme (GES‐1) responsible for AMR. Our data show it is a more potent inhibitor than the related tazobactam, with high‐level computation

Mutations in the C9orf72 gene represent the most common genetic cause of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), a fatal neurodegenerative disease. Using patient‐derived neurons and C. elegans models, we find that the nucleoporin Nup107 is dysregulated in C9orf72‐associated ALS. Conversely, reducing Nup107 levels mitigates disease‐related changes.

Enhancement of Subjective Logic for Semantic Document Analysis Using Hierarchical Document Signature [PDF]
In this paper, an extension of Subjective Logic (SL) is presented which uses semantic information from a document to find 'opinions' about a sentence. This method computes semantic overlap of events (words or sentences) using Hierarchical Document Signature (HDS) and uses it as evidence to formulate SL belief measures to order sentences according to ...
