ABSTRACT The dynamic nature of small islands being geographically isolated and their perceived connectedness with global networks complicates research attempts to draw general conclusions on whether insularity leads to marginalization or strengthens their resilience for sustainable development.

Abstract One strategy to remove carbon dioxide (CO2) from the atmosphere is to accelerate weathering in croplands by adding powdered rock. Both silicate and carbonate minerals can be effective as amendments, but strong acids from rain and fertilizer diminish CO2 removal and can promote degassing of CO2 from carbonate minerals (geogenic CO2).

Seasonal and Spatial Variability of Silicon Cycle in Godavari Tidal River Zone
Abstract Dam regulation of tropical monsoonal rivers enhances seasonal contrasts in the tidal river zone (TRZ) hydrology, altering the delivery of dissolved silicon (DSi) to the coastal ocean. Here, we identify the drivers of Si cycling in the Godavari TRZ and quantify their implications for Si delivery to the Bay of Bengal (BoB). We analyzed elemental

A Mechanistic Approach Accounting for Progressive Soil Surface Sealing in Interrill Erosion Modeling
Abstract Raindrop‐induced soil surface sealing alters infiltration, runoff, and sediment detachment, yet most erosion models fail to capture its dynamic impacts on interrill processes at event scales. Conceptually informed by the process‐based approach of Water Erosion Prediction Project, we develop a modeling framework that couples seal formation, two‐

Abstract Offshore freshened groundwater (OFG) is a significant yet underexplored component of global water resources, occurring widely along many continental margins. However, its dynamics remain poorly constrained due to limited offshore observations and the absence of robust evaluation models for unambiguous emplacement interpretation.

Abstract Bedload transport widely occurs in natural environments and encompasses flow regimes from saltation to sheet‐flow, with markedly different fluid‐particle interaction characteristics. Understanding these mechanisms requires a numerical tool capable of capturing both the turbulence and fluid‐particle interactions, for which challenges exist due ...
