A Novel Method for Performance Improvement of Chaos-Based Substitution Boxes [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2020
Symmetry plays an important role in nonlinear system theory. In particular, it offers several methods by which to understand and model the chaotic behavior of mathematical, physical and biological systems. This study examines chaotic behavior in the field of information security.

Relating Undisturbed Bits to Other Properties of Substitution Boxes [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Recently it was observed that for a particular nonzero input difference to an S-Box, some bits in all the corresponding output differences may remain invariant. These specific invariant bits are called undisturbed bits. Undisturbed bits can also be seen as truncated differentials with probability \(1\) for an S-Box.

An Innovative Design of Substitution-Boxes Using Cubic Polynomial Mapping [PDF]

open access: yesSymmetry, 2019
In this paper, we propose to present a novel technique for designing cryptographically strong substitution-boxes using cubic polynomial mapping. The proposed cubic polynomial mapping is proficient to map the input sequence to a strong 8 × 8 S-box meeting the requirements of a bijective function. The use of cubic polynomial maintains the simplicity of S-

Construction of Substitution Boxes Using Finite Fields

open access: yesVFAST Transactions on Mathematics, 2023
Substitution boxes (S-boxes) play a crucial role in modern cryptographic algorithms, providingnon-linear transformations that enhance the security of data encryption. S-boxes are essentialcomponents of symmetric key ciphers, such as Advanced Encryption Standard (AES) and DataEncryption Standard (DES).

Understanding the Technological Substitution by Hybrid Modelling Practice: a Methodological Approach

open access: yesChemical Engineering Transactions, 2015
Various novel climate technologies and eco-innovations have already reached a mature state, but they diffuse slowly into the market. Due to this slow process the mitigation of climate change does not take the most effective path.

Prognosis of Long‐Term Continuous Renal Replacement Therapy and the Impact of Combined Continuous Intravenous Sodium Infusion Therapy

open access: yesTherapeutic Apheresis and Dialysis, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Introduction Patients requiring long‐term continuous renal replacement therapy (CRRT) generally have poor prognoses. This study evaluated whether adding continuous intravenous sodium infusion (cIVNa) is associated with improved hemodynamics and outcomes in patients undergoing long‐term CRRT for ≥ 7 days.

Protein pyrophosphorylation by inositol pyrophosphates — detection, function, and regulation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Protein pyrophosphorylation is an unusual signaling mechanism that was discovered two decades ago. It can be driven by inositol pyrophosphate messengers and influences various cellular processes. Herein, we summarize the research progress and challenges of this field, covering pathways found to be regulated by this posttranslational modification as ...
