Study on the Excavation Method of Cable Tunnel on Existing Subway Tunnel

open access: yesDEStech Transactions on Computer Science and Engineering, 2017
The paper describes the impact on the existing subway tunnel when using different method excavate the cable tunnel which is upon the subway tunnel. In this paper we use three-dimensional finite element modeling method to establish Soil - Cable Tunnel - Subway Tunnel model. Using numerical simulation method to analysis three different excavation working

Dynamic geo‐hydrogeological monitoring‐driven situational awareness for real‐time floor water inrush risk prediction in deep mining

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
The fused data extracted from the distributed monitoring system as the data basis, combined with dynamic geological data, are imported into a deep learning model. As the geological conditions of mining and excavation change, the risk of water inrush at the working face is retrieved in real time.

Performance assessment of a potential underground thermal storage facility: Case study of the closed mine Prosper‐Haniel in the Ruhr coal mining area in Germany

open access: yesDeep Underground Science and Engineering, EarlyView.
This study demonstrates the feasibility of an underground closed‐loop thermal storage facility at a post‐mining site, intended for seasonal heat energy storage. Its principal design shows water flow directions in winter and summer (1, 2), heat pumps (3), an upper water reservoir (4), and connecting pipes (5).

Seismic responses of rectangular subway tunnels in a clayey ground

open access: yesPLOS ONE, 2018
Observations from past earthquakes have shown that subway tunnels can suffer severe damage or excessive deformation due to seismic shaking. This study presents the results of finite element analyses on subway tunnels installed in normally consolidated clay deposits subjected to far-field ground motions.

Measurement of Distributed Antenna Systems at 2.4 GHz in a Realistic Subway Tunnel Environment. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2012
Accurate characterization of the radio channel in tunnels is of great importance for new signaling and train control communications systems. To model this environment, measurements have been taken at 2.4 GHz in a real environment in Madrid subway.
