SUCCINATE DEHYDROGENASE SUBUNIT B DEFICIENT PEDIATRIC GIST

open access: yesHematology, Transfusion and Cell Therapy, 2022
Case report Gastrointestinal stromal tumors (GISTs) occur exceedingly rare in children and adolescents. Eighty five percent of pediatric GISTs and 15 % of adult GISTs lack oncogenic mutations in KIT and PDGFRA.

Microglial Fkbp5 Impairs Post‐Stroke Vascular Integrity and Regeneration by Promoting Yap1‐Mediated Glycolysis and Oxidative Phosphorylation

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A post‐stroke perivascular niche of microglia characterized by low expression of M2 markers and elevated glycolysis, oxidative phosphorylation (OXPHOS), and phagocytic activity is identified, which is termed stroke‐activated vascular‐associated microglia (stroke‐VAM).

Identification of stable normalization genes for quantitative real-time PCR in porcine articular cartilage

open access: yesJournal of Animal Science and Biotechnology, 2012
Background Expression levels for genes of interest must be normalized with an appropriate reference, or housekeeping gene, to make accurate comparisons of quantitative real-time PCR results.

PTG‐Dependent Glycogen Metabolic Dysfunction Drives Impaired Adipose Browning: A Novel Mechanism Linking PM2.5 to Metabolic Disorders

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study provides the first evidence that PM2.5 impairs iWAT browning via PTG‐mediated glycogen metabolism disruption, which is initiated by ADRB3 inhibition and subsequently triggers VEGFB upregulation. It thereby delineates the ADRB3‐PTG‐VEGFB axis as central to PM2.5‐induced metabolic dysfunction and identifies adipose glycogen metabolism as a ...

Effects of Hyperbaric Hypoxia on Some Enzyme Systems in the Mammalian Liver [PDF]

open access: yes, 1978
The metabolic effects of hypobaric hypoxic stress on the mammalian liver were studied. The lactate dehydrogenase (LDH) and succinate dehydrogenase (SDH) activity of mouse liver homogenates were measured after exposure to an equivalent altitude of 36,000 ...

The antibacterial action of microcin J25: evidence for disruption of cytoplasmic membrane energization in Salmonella newport [PDF]

open access: yes, 2001
Microcin J25 (MccJ25) is a cyclic peptide of 21 unmodified amino acid residues produced by a fecal strain of Escherichia coli. It has previously been shown that the antibiotic activity of this peptide is mainly directed to Enterobacteriaceae, including ...

MDP25‐VDAC3 Complex Orchestrates Actin Remodeling and Mitochondrial Dynamics to Modulate Innate Immunity in Arabidopsis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
This study reveals that actin remodeling regulates mitochondrial elongation as a defense strategy in plants. Flagellin perception induces fusion‐dependent elongation, supported by cortical actin bundles, to repair damage and boost ATP and ROS production.
