Ceria Nanostructures Obtained by Hydrothermal Synthesis: Exploring the Experimental Parameter Landscape for Precise Morphology and Size Control

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Inorganic Chemistry, Volume 29, Issue 25, 1 September 2026.
Hydrothermal and microwave‐assisted syntheses enable systematic tuning of ceria nanostructure morphology. Chloride counter‐ions direct nanorod growth, while an acetate buffer yields uniform nanocubes whose size (14–26 nm) is tuned via the reactor filling ratio, with microwave heating significantly cutting reaction times to minutes while preserving high

Controlled‐Release Urea Combined With Urea Sustains Yield and Improves Soil Organic Carbon Storage Under Reduced Nitrogen in Rice–Wheat Rotation

open access: yesFood and Energy Security, Volume 15, Issue 5, September/October 2026.
ABSTRACT Reducing nitrogen (N) input while sustaining productivity is central to the long‐term food security of intensive rice–wheat systems. We evaluated whether blending controlled‐release urea (CRU) with conventional urea (U) could maintain annual yield stability while improving soil carbon status during a 3‐year rice–wheat rotation. Nine treatments,

Defect‐Rich Ir Single‐Atom/NiMnOx Catalyst: From Surface Reconstruction to Practical PEM Electrolysis

open access: yesInterdisciplinary Materials, Volume 5, Issue 5, Page 868-878, September 2026.
A novel IrSA─NiMnOx composite achieves remarkable oxygen evolution reaction performance in acidic media with an overpotential of 193 mV at 10 mA cm−2 and maintains stability for 800 h at 200 mA cm−2, which is attributed to the atomically dispersed Ir atoms and amorphous NiMnOx carriers and the lattice oxygen oxidation mechanism.

Working Right Ways: Investigating Health Practitioners' Perspectives of Challenges and Barriers to Providing Good Foot Care With and for First Nations Peoples

open access: yesJournal of Foot and Ankle Research, Volume 19, Issue 3, September 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Ongoing colonisation of the land now known of Australia includes Western hegemony in biomedical knowledge systems dominating healthcare provision. Racism remains structurally entrenched in Australian systems of health and wellbeing. This has serious implications for First Nations foot health outcomes.

Recurrent Body Shape Patterns in Cave‐ and Surface‐Dwelling Trichomycterid Catfishes

open access: yesJournal of Morphology, Volume 287, Issue 9, September 2026.
Multivariate shape analyses reveal that body shape consistently differs between cave‐ and surface‐dwelling trichomycterids in northeastern Colombia, with cave species exhibiting fusiform bodies while surface species showed deeper shapes consistently in different clades.
