Cryopreservation of sugarcane embryogenic callus using a simplified freezing process [PDF]

open access: yesCRYO-LETTERS, Volume: 19, Issue: 3, Pages: 171-176, Published: MAY-JUN 1998, Document Type:Article Published by Cryo-Letters, 7, Wootton Way, Cambridge CB3 9LX, U.K, 2020
A simplified freezing process was developed and successfully applied to embryogenic calluses of three sugarcane commercial hybrids (Saccharum sp. cv. CP 5243, C 91-301 and C 1051-73). To obtain optimal survival, the calluses were pretreated with a cryoprotective solution containing 10% DMSO and 0.3 to 0.75M sucrose.

Enhancing Phosphorus Uptake in Sugarcane: A Critical Evaluation of Humic Acid and Phosphorus Fertilizers Effectiveness [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2023
Our research conducted in an area characterized by alkaline, lime-abundant soils investigated the potential of utilizing phosphorus fertilizer and humic acid to enhance phosphorus absorption in sugarcane crops. The results indicated that the application of phosphorus fertilizer significantly increased the total and bioavailable phosphorus in the ...

Rigid Macroporous Wood Microparticles Impart Universality and Scalability to Lightweight Foam Insulation

open access: yesAdvanced Sustainable Systems, EarlyView.
Rigid, lightweight foams for thermal insulation are produced using a universal and scalable method: results are compared between pilot plant trials, four wood residues, pulp, ocean water, and a biosurfactant. Two guidelines for using this method are suggested: use a distribution of rigid wood microparticle sizes and shapes and match the average ...

Volumetric based mass flow estimation on sugarcane harvesters [PDF]

open access: yesarXiv, 2020
Yield monitors on harvesters are a key component of precision agriculture. Mass flow estimation is the critical factor to measure, and having this allows for field productivity analysis, adjustments to machine efficiency, and cost minimization by ensuring trucks are filled maximally without exceeding weight limits.
